TO 12 NOON PHONE 482-9491 FREE PICK-DP AND DELIVERY Broadfoot holsteins sold after barn levelled by fire When the barn on the farm of Alister Broadfoot, Seaforth, was destroyed by fire October ’ 27, the Huron County Holstein Breeder^ Club pitched in and helped with preparations for the sale of the herd. The sale was held November 2 at the neigh­ bouring farm of Lome Tyndall, Clinton, with a large crowd on hand. The 47-head herd’brought a total of $27,145 a general aver­ age of $579 each. Twenty-six milking females averaged $666; six bred heifers $654; 9 year­ lings $389; three heifer calves $283; and three bulls $188 each, j, The top price was $1,600 paid by Stonetown Farms Lim­ ited, St. Marys, for the bred "heifer, Brant Maples Rockett Nel, a daughter of Forest Lee Rocket Centurion. Stonetown .Farms also paid the second highest price of $1,500 for the cow Mains Royal Lilly who has a record at six years of age of 17,009 pounds milk contain­ ing 613 pounds fat testing 3.6 percent butterfat. J. H. G. Inglis, Walkerton, paid $1,000 for the very good cow Mains Beth Butter Girl. Gordon de Jong, Brucefield, paid $1,050 for the seven-year- old Mains Lynne Butter Girl who dt-six years produced 19,753 now, for a four-year-old; $700 paid by A. Haverkamp, Gode­ rich, for a three-year-old; $700 paid by John N. Franken, Au­ burn, for a six-year-old; $675 paid by John Franken for a nine-year-old; and $675 paid by J. J.
