Woon, who' passed away ■ October 16, 1964. Jt is sad to walk the road ajone, Instead of side by side, But to all there comes a moment When the ways of life divide; In my heart your memory lingers 4 Sweetly tenders, fond and true. There is not a day, Dear John, That J do not think of you. —Sadly missed by his wife, Pearl. 41b FINLEY—In loving memory of a dear husband and father, George R. Finley, who passed away fourteen years ago, October 15, 1953, Treasured thoughts of one so dear. Often bring a silent tear, Thoughts return to scenes long past, Years roll on but memories last. —Always remembered by wife Effie and daughters. 41 p SHOBBROOK—In loving memory of a dear mother, Mrs. Ethel Shobbrook, who passed away October 17, 1966. In our hearts your memory liligers, Sweetly tender, fond and true; There is not a day, dear mother, That we do not think of you. —Sadly missed by Annie, Ruth, Stan and grandchildren. 41b Plant bushes now If you want to have a few currants or gooseberries in the garden, now is the time to start planning where to put them, advise horticulturists with the Ontario Department of Agriculture and Food. ‘ Fall planting is generally re commended because both cur- rants and gooseberries start | growth very early in the spring. 1 Plant any time from when the leaves fall off, up to freeze up. Prepare the ground well by digging to a depth of 12 to 18 inches, and work in some well- rotted manure. Don’t add any fertilizer till next spring, when you should apply about one pound of 10—10—10 to each five or six plants. The best site for plants is a cool, moist but well drained, rich clay soil. Plant red cur rants and gooseberries four feet by four feet, and the stronger growing black currants five feet by five feet. For planting, strong, well rooted, one-year-old plants are your best bet.. Trim any torn or broken roots and set the plants slightly deeper in the soil than they were in the nur sery. Firm the soil well around the roots after planting. Fashions W. C.
