August 5. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Al
bert Powell of Goderich, and
the groom’s, parents are Mr.
and Mrs. Jacques Frechette
of Asbestos, Quebec. Father
Francis Lally of CFB Clintpn
officiated at the double-ring
ceremony.
The bride entered the church
on the arm of her father. She
Chose a floor-length gown of
white silk organza. The bodice
was highlighted by a scoop neck
line, elbow-length sleeves, and
an empire waist. Appliqufes of
delicate Swiss guipure lace en
hanced the sleeves, empire
waist, and bottom of the gently
controlled A-line skirt. Cascad-
ing from appliques at the em
pire waist was a detachable
chapel train. To complete her
bridal outfit the bride wore a
French silk illusion veil caught
up by a headpiece of guipure
lace petals touched with tiny
seed pearls. Her bouquet was
a cascade of red rose buds
and white stephanotis.

? honor was Mrs. Joseph Loch.,
nan of Ottawa; bridesmaids
' were Sylvia Seede of London
and Celine Frechette, sister
of the groom, of Asbestos, Que
bec. Jane MacDonald of London
and Cathy Milburn of Saskat
chewan were flower girls. All
1 wore identical floor—length
dresses of Kelly green peau
de soie. The dresses featured
scoop necklines and A-line
skirts. The empire waists were
accented by detachable Chan
tilly lace trains of matching
Kelly green. They wore elbow
length lily-point gloves ofKelly
green Chantilly lace, and their
headpieces were roses of Kelly
green peau de soie and lace.
Cascades of white mums tipped
Kelly green formed their bou-
quets.
Groomsman was Michel
Frechette, brother of the groom
, of Asbestos, Quebec, and usher-
i ing were David Powell, the
bride’s cousin, Toronto, and Vic
Pilote, CFB Clinton.
Guests were received in the
• Staff Lounge, CFB Clinton, by

will live in Goderich,
PRE-NUPTIAL EVENTS
A bathroom shower was given
by Mrs. Ron Smith and Miss
Sheila Scrimegour. Mrs. Alvin
Gilders and Mrs. Vern (Kitty)
Smith held a miscellaneous
shower. Mrs. Norman Allin,
Mrs. Frank Schmidt, Mrs. Rob-
ert Allin and Mrs. John Moss
held a kitchen shower. A trous
seau tea was held at the home
of the bride.

pier fellow last Thursday night
when his lost wallet was

David Was on an errand
his mbther when he lost

amount of money. That was
■' several weeks ago and since,
“ that tiine David had inquired
at the polifee station and at the
• business places in the vicinity
of Bartliff’s Bakery where the
purse Was first missed - but
no one cOuld shed any light on
the disappearnace.

Carolyn Lobb and William
James Lodge. In a setting of
white gladioli and tall white
tapers, the Rev. Grant Mills
officiated. The bride ‘ is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Har
old Lobb, Clinton, and the groom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Floyd Lodge of Goderich.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a floor
length sheath gown of de-lus-
tered peau de sole trimmed with
Chantilly lace applique at the
empire bodice and hem, long
lily-point sleeves, and a grace,

floor-length gowns of turquoise
georgette over taffeta, with em
broidered alencon lace bodice,
deep V cut-out neckline in back
caught with a soft bow, and mat
ching shoes and headdress, con
sisting of a single fabric rose
and a pouffe of tulle. They car
ried crescent bouquets of white
starburst poms.
Clark Chisholm of Goderich
was the groomsman, and Rich,
ard Lobb and John Lodge were
ushers.
At the reception following the
ceremony guests were received
by the bride’s mother, who wore
a jade green and gold brocade
sheath drfe&s with'matching full-:
length coat. Her silk velvet hat
and shoes were of a harmon
izing shade, and she wore a
corsage of pale yellow roses.
The groom’s mother wore a
three piece ensemble of ivory
brocade with bone accessories,
and a corsage of gardenias.
A coppertone necklace and bead-
ed bag accented her costume.
Master of ceremonies for the
occasion was Fred Lobb,
brother of the bride.
For her wedding trip to Mont
real and points east, the bride
donned a dress of turquoise
French voile, white flower-petal
hat, white accessories and a
corsage ,of white carnations.
The couple will reside in
London where the groom is a
member of the teaching staff
of Westminster Secondary
School, and the bride of Ealing
Public School.

and detachable train were trim
med with guipure lace. A head
piece of tulle petals held her
shoulder length veil and she
carried a white Bible decorated
with aqua carnations.
Attending her as maid of
honor was Janet Brandon of
Palmerston, in an aqua gown
and groom’s parents. Mrs.
Haines chose for her daughter’s
wedding a flowered blue and
pink nylon over taffeta dress,
white hat and white accessories
and a white rose corsage. Mrs.
Livermore chose a pink crepe
dress, pink hat and pink ac.

For travelling, the bride wore
a turquoise linen suit, turquoise

tea service and Miss Diane Swan

Sharon Collins, Auburn.
In the evening, Mrs. Frykas
was assisted by Miss Helen
Livermore, Clinton, sister of
the groom, Tea was poured
by Mrs. Mike Hynbida, Winni
peg, .aunt of the bride and. the
guests were served by Mrs. Wes
Bradnock, Miss Margaret San
derson and Miss Connie Hickey.

boro and Mrs. Della Thompson,

neckline. This dress, styled by
the bride herself, featured an
empire waistline and silk or-'
ganza long lily-point sleeves.
Her chapel train of silk organza
fell from a brocade bow at the
waistline. The elbow-length veil
of silk illusion cascaded from

and white stephanotis with ivy.
The maid of honor was Miss
Helen Livermore of Clinton,
sister of the groom. She wore
a street-length sleeveless gown

ing chiffon train fashioned on
the same lines as the bride’s..
She, wore a wedding-ring hat
of matching blue brocade with
tiny brocade hearts on the blue
tulle and carried a nosegay of
white- gladioli accented with
shrimp tulle. Bridesmaids
were Miss Olga Strilkiwski of
I Winnipeg, Manitoba, cousin of
the bride and Miss Mary Joan
Rathbun of Hillsburgh, Ontario,
cousin of the bride. Both brides
maids were gowned alike in
; dresses of shrimp brocade with
shrimp chiffon trains styled
similar to the bride’s. They
carried nosegays of white gladi
oli accented with blue tulle.
