What Do Kids Do
In Summertime?
Kids are a wonderful lot of
people. Mothers may find them
bothersome, fathers may call
them noisy, neighbours may
label them nuisances, but gen
erally speaking children are
lively, bubbling, uncomplicated
examples of mankind.
Just what they do with their
time throughout the summer
months is a study worthy
of attention. Though grownups

It’s a pretty tough thing when a fella has to spend his summer
mowing lawns and delivering papers, but it is much more pleasant
to take when you can have someone with you to cheer you up
when you’re down. Keith Bottema, 12, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Bottema, Orange Street, pushes the lawn mower and is encouraged
by Clarence Roorda, 10, son, of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Roorda,
Rattenbury Street. The boys had a long way to go in the hot sun
but the promise of better times ahead was enough to spur them
on to the finish.
By far the most popular spot
in town for kids . big and

during the summer.
