Hiring a baby sister for an eve
ning is only an inch short of

a family of youthful dependants

for a week-end or several days.

child like its own mother,” say
the stubborn, types who still
doubt that electricity is here
to stay. '
But I’m a radical. Along with
hundreds of other mothers and
fathers who know the sheer
joy of being “childless’ for
short periods. I. believe that it

for the parents to he separated
now and again- I contend that
time away from cradle and pea
nut butler and jelly is .probably
more valuable to the young
mother than a liver shot at the
hands of a. reputable doctor,.
What's more, I’m convinced
that most medics and all child
care authorities would agree
that adoring parents and happy
kiddies can, remain closely knit
family units throughout regu
lar, occasional partings, one
from the other.
Come, to think of it, I don’t
know how women retained their
sanity before the idea of baby
sitters revolutionized mother-
hood. In fact, if I had to choose
'between my babysitter and my
husband, the decision would
rest entirely on the happenings
of the pre’ceeding hours with
my trio of healthy, energetic
bundles nf childish enthusiasm,
Mr, and Mrs. Charles Blet-

Janet,and Angela, leftfor their

spending nearly two weeks with

The salute was taken by Com-
mander Frank Toten, command-
ing officer, London Squadron of
Canadian PowerSquadrons. The
fleet in line on review formed
a very impressive sight.

Funeral services were held
last week for Mrs. Verne
Bokinger of
passed away after seyeral
peeks’ illness in Detroit hos
pital. Born in Auburp In 1895,
she was the daughter of the late
Archie Robinson and Essie Flu-
ker. She attended the Auburn
school and later went to Det
roit. The funeral service was
conducted by the Rev. Raymond
H. Swartzback at the Harris
Funeral Home. Burial took
place in Roseland Park ceme
tery.
Surviving besides her hus-
band are one brother, Archie
- Robinson of Clinton, three sis
ters, Mr. Luella Phillips, Mit
chell, Mrs. Lester (Edna) Gre.
