A donation of $5 is to go to the Red Cross. A “Centen nial” discussion completed the afternoon. -. The tables were decorated with white snowball flowers and an ar rangement of pansies. Later, several hilarious skits .were presented by Jean Mc Kenzie, Pat Marceil, Kay Tay lor, Millie McFarland and Joyce Hatten. Music for the skits was provided by Jimmy Marceil. An auction sale of several ■ lovely violet plants, donated by Mrs. H. Greenaway, was. held and proceeds of $9.50 was given to “Operation Vellore”. Grade Four Class A surprise farewell party for Mrs. Etue who is taking a leave of absence, was arranged by, her Grade 4 pupils at AM Hugh Campbell Public School. Mr. and Mrs.- Frank Arm strong from* Saskatoon, Sask., have been visiting with their daughter and son-in-law Sgt. and Mrs. Jack-Hewitt. Thirteen ladies were present at a farewell party hosted by Mrs. Bea Bowman and Mrs. Merle Prest for Mrs. Joyce Gale who is leaving for Rivers, Man., where her husband is posted. A gift of a lovely white evening purse was given to Joyce. Dur ing the evening, several games were played and a delicious lunch was served. The bride is the daughter ’of , Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Neilans, •i Clinton, and the groom is the son* of Mr. and Mrs, William Glew, also of Clinton. The church was decorated with white ’mums and snap dragons and candelabra for the wedding service. Soloist William Cook sang “Bless This House” and “The Lord’s Prayer” ac companied at the-organ by Mrs. Morgan Agnew. Given in miarriage by her father, the bride wore an orig inal gown of white peau de soie featuring an empire bodice with lily point sleeves. The sheath skirt formed a slight tram. A lace coronet headpiece held her full-length hand ap- pliqued veil: She carried a cres cent of pale pink spider ’mums With a mauve orchid in the midst of them. Miss Margaret, Leiper, Tor onto as maid of honor and Miss Joyce Neilans, Clinton and. Miss Ruth Ann Neilans, Clinton, bridesmaids, were gowned alike ’in floor-length empire style gowns of lilac crepe accented by panels of, white Guipure lace. They wore matching wedding ring headdresses with small veils,, and carried white lace Sergeants' Mess Plans Week of Centennial Fun ■ One of the most unique ideas for a Centennial Cele bration is the current brain child of the Sergeants’ Mess at CFB Clinton. The enter tainment committee headed by Sgt. Larry Lapointe is finalizing preparation for a full week of activities to celebrate Canada’s 100th birthday. The festivities will run from- the 17th to the 24th of June and are open to mem bers of the Sgts’ Mess and their invited guests from the local area. Receiving guests were the bride’s mother wearing a yellow lace coat and dress en semble with yellow accessories, white hat and gloves and a cor sage of white' 'mums. The groom’s mother chose a pink linen coat and dress ensemble with black patent accessories, pink hat and gloves and a cor sage of white ’mums. For travelling to Niagara Falls ahd the northern pnited States, the bride wore a sleeve less two-piece boucle.suit with navy blue accessories, turquoise hat and gloves and a corsage of red roses.
