With Nd. 402.. Hurricane Squad­ ron ■ in England and No. 413 Catalina Squadron in Ceylon. Remaining With the RCAF at the war’s end, he subsequent­ ly saw service at a number of stations, across Canada includ­ ing a tour of duty at.Air Force Headquarters in Ottawa from 1958-63, - At trie time of h'is retirement he was" a member of the in­ structional staff of the Officers’ Training Division at * -No. 1 Radar and Communications Sdh’ool,' CFB Clinton., ' r F/L Salter has accepted a position with Ford of Canada as a Safety Engineer at their new­ ly constructed plant at Talbat- ville.. Canadian Air Force after a period of 20 years service. Or­ iginally from Kerroibert, Sask., F/L. Wright, joined the RCAF in 1940 for the duration of the war as a. navigator. . At the war’s end he left the' RCAF and went to the Univers- ' ■■ ity of British Columbia where ’ ■ he obtained his B.A., majoring' in mathematics and physics. F/L Wright rejoined the ’ RCAF in 1952 as a Personnel ' ’Administration Officer . and ,in - 1954 was'subsequently trans­ ferred to the Tefliecommu'riica- . tions Branch'. At the time of his " retirement he was deputy of­ ficer . Commander of the Of­ ficers' . Training Division at No'. 1 Radar 'and Comnnuriicatiohs* School, CFB Clinton. -Flight Lieut, Wright has ac­ cepted a position with the De­ partment of External Affairs. At present he and his family are ' residing in the Ottawa ■area, .where he is'attending a training'Cpurse for his new'em­ ployment'. On completion of the course he ;expects to become an enibassy manager at one of our overseas embassies. f V V Mrs. F. A. Axon . Died in Toronto, Funeral March 8 Mrs., Frederick A. Axon',, Wife, of late Dr. Axon, formerly of Clinton, passed away. Sunday, March 5 in Sit. Joseph’s Hos­ pital^ Toronto., •' • She was the former Catherine McGill and 'was borri'in Ohesley, October 15, 1884, a daughter of late Daniel McGill arid Anges Balfour.- For the past/ 26 ye.ars she has resided in Toronto. She. was a' member of the Presby­ terian Church arid a, life, mem­ ber of the WMS? She. is- survived by one son, Frederick,-arid two grandchild­ ren, Fred ,Jr’ and Sandra, all .of Toronto. She - was predeceased by her husband in 1938, and by four brothers and two sisters. ■The funeral service was held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at. the Heath-Leslie Funeral Home, Mitchell. Rev. Alan Ross' offici­ ated.
