Despite the bad weather the contractor has managed to keep the work right op schedule, If you haven’t been by the site lately I would suggest you take a drive past it this week. You will probably be quite surprised to see how much of our new Centre js already up, ' The new Centre certainly going to be an asset to our ‘ Community. Every member of the family will soon find him self looking forward to visiting it, either as a spectator or as a participant in some function. , The many uses of this building will vary from recreational to social and educational. We will now have a modern Centre which will .be bustling with ' community activity throughout the, entire year. i Something we must bear in mind is that this Centennial project which we have taken on is perhaps one of the largest undertakings the town has ever entered into. As- citizens of Clinton, and District we must hand’ together and form ONE enthusiastic "body of individuals who are willing to suffer a ■slight- personal sacrifice right now, all for the cause of /com munity betterment and personal satisfaction to one and- all. This huge project is not going to be built with donations of $1,00 and $2.00. It is the donations of $50.00, $100.00 and $1,000.00 ' which will turn it into a fin ancial success and relieve the town of a tremendous twenty- year burden. ' ’ There ‘is one other method which we would like to present for your consideration. Did it ever occur to you that if 500 people .were to each donate $5.00 per week this building could be paid for in less than two years. Bearing in mind that there are. many more than 500 . households in the town, and by - spreading the repayment sche dule over a complete two-year period,, a weekly amount of much lesis than $5.00 would1 be' sufficient to enable us . to com- "pletely pay for our new Com munity Centre. , , A' system such as this would save the town as much as $175,- 000.00 on the overall cost-of this project. Are you, as a citizen of. Clinton 'willing to undergo this , sniall personal sacrifice so that we ds a community can realize the personal peace and satis/ faction of a “job vvell done”. Talk this over with your Mends and neighbours, and your can- 'Vasser. let’s create a spirit of . enthusiasm throughout the town which will remain with us until this project is completed, “^e’ll all be glad we did” .
