Suffers Peculiar Back Ailment LAC Bob McLean, of R.C.A.F., Centralia, who with Mrs. Mc­ Lean, occupies one of the Tra- quair apartments, was taken to Westminster Hospital, last week for treatment. Mr. Mc­ Lean, while doing some lifting at the airport, suffered some dis­ comfort and an examination re­ vealed trouble of the spine. He will be on his back for the next five weeks and this may extend into a number of months as Mr. ■McLean is suffering from a rare ailment. He came to Exeter from Calgary, Alta. Huron Presbytery Grants'Changes Three charges were sustained and one retirement was granted when the Huron Presbytery of the United Church of Canada met in Wesley Willis United Church at Clinton last Thursday. Rev. J. R. Peters of the Mc- Killop charge was granted leave to retire. The .calls sustained were from Holmesville charge to Rev. G. N. Newton, St. Helens; from Centralia 'charge to Rev. G. G. CARDS OF THANKS Past Masters Hold Ladies* Night Banquet Members of the Masonic Order with their wives, numbering about fifty, attended Ladies’ Night of the Past Master Asso­ ciation of South Huron Masonic district held in the Crystal Hall at Mitchell Thursday evening last. About 450 persons packed the hall and partook of a grand turkey banquet, served by the ladies of the United Church. The speaker of the evening was Nelson C. Hart, professor of the University of Western On­ tario, and Masonic deputy grand master, Prof. Hart spoke on the .principles of Masonry—belief in a supreme being, in brotherly love, and in personal liberty. The speaker was thanked by George Jefferson, Clinton, and gifts were presented to Prof, and Mrs. Hart by Lloyd Edig- hoffer, Mitchell. Albert W. Reis, Milverton, district president, who introduced the speaker, was chairman of the banquet. W. I. Carroll, Mitchell, proposed the toast to the King; and Rev. Charles L. Langford, Exeter, pronounced the invocation. Wil­ liam Cann, Exeter, district de­ puty grand master, proposed the toast to the women, which was replied to by Mrs. Lloyd Edig-^ hoffer. Ralph Munro, of Auburn, thanked the Mitchell lodge, and A. M. Stewart, Mitchell, replied. According to C. H. ~ Clinton, secretary of the County Committee, the number attend­ ing the Clinic will be 104, com­ prising 64 orthopedic, 30 eye­ sight, eight hearing, and two miscellaneous cases. The special­ ists from London will include two orthopedic surgeons and at least one. eye, ear and nose sur­ geon. Mr. Epps stated that a system of appointments would .be fol­ lowed next Wednesday, the par­ ents of each child being notified as to time. The Clinic will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (D.S.T.). Roughly, the people re­ siding south of King’s Highway 8 will be expected to attend in the morning, with those .north of King’s Highway 8, in the afternoon. Dr. E. A. McMaster, Seaforth, chairman of the Huron County Committee, stated that the Sur­ vey and Clinic were being carried out through the co-operation of the various Lions ’Clubs .of the county, the 'Ontario Society for Crippled Children, and Huron County Public Health Unit. Mr* John Inch was organist and soloist was Mill Helen Symons who sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “0 Promise Me.” Given in marriage by her father, the bride was gowned in ivory satin made with lace yoke and bertha collar, long sleeves ending in lily points over the hands and full skirt ending in a train. Her full-length veil of em­ broidered illusion fell from a beaded tiara. She carried a cas­ cade bouquet of calla lilies and red roses. The bride’s sister, Mrs. A. M. Jamieson, as matron of honor, wore fuschia velvet with Ing half hat and carried cade bouquet of white Ernest J. Hill attended the groom and the ushers were A. M. Jamieson and J. Box. After the ceremony the recep­ tion was held in the church par­ lor, the bride’s mother receiving in a beige dross with brown lace trim and brown accessories and a corsage of Talisman roses. The groom’s mother wore navy print­ ed silk with navy and white ac­ cessories and corsage of deep pink roses. For a wedding trip to United States, the bride wore a navy gabardine suit, grey top coat, pink straw hat, with navy acces­ sories, and corsage of Dink roses.
