Newlyweds Hunting a Floffie
Should Consider Many Things
The romantic notion that a couple's first home
is perfect just because they will be living
there is just that — a romantic notion.
A lot of thought and question asking must
precede any romantic notions about a new
house or apartment.
First, whatever type of dwelling is chosen, a
couple must consider their own personal size
needs. Because the first year of marriage in-
volves a tremendous readjustment for two
people, it is better not to start out in a confined
space like a studio apartment.
EVEN THOUGH these two people are all of a
sudden living together, they are still separate
persons with individual hobbies and interests.
So consider buying a house or renting an
apartment which has at least one "extra"
room to get lost in.
Important things to search for in a prospective
new domain include: enough electrical outlets
in the kitchen and bathroom especially; stor-
age space, closets within the domain and other
spaces in say, a basement and laundry facil-
ities.
Also a thorough investigation of the policys of
the apartment manager is necessary for happi-
ness in a new home. Check to see what his
policies are on .pets and peddlers, painting
policies in case you should want to redecorate
and length arid renewal of the lease agree-
ment.

IF YOU are prone to having messy hobbies
like furniture refinishing, which many young
couples are wont to pursue, find out if there
are any facilities for performing the messy
tasks.
Is there a swimming pool, does the manage-
ment take care of garbage removal, and will
the management provide curtain rods? All
these and more are things a couple should
not be afraid to ask, because after all, it is
their future which is concerned.
A couple planning to marry should start to
look for a place to live about three months
before their wedding. At that time it is important
that the couple gets the measurements of the
rooms in which they'll be living so that furni-
ture and rugs, if necessary, can be ordered
accordingly.
It may sound silly, but look at your new abode
one time at night before you make the con-
tract for it final. Are the hallways well-lit? Are
the fixtures that are there supplied with light-
bulbs?
Happy House hunting!
