Are Simple yet 2ramatic and Coiorlui
Simple, dramatic and colorful is the theme
for this season's wedding flowers, and the
fashion experts state that brides will choose
bouquets which will be trend setters in their
own right.
Keynote of the trend is more and more
color in wedding flowers. While more modern
brides will select bolder color arrangements,
even traditionalists will ask for hints of
pastel in their wedding bouquets. And, bou-
quet designs themselves will be taking some
interesting turns.
Floral experts poinf to the variety of wed-
ding fashions as a prime influence for the
new shapes and dramatic effects of bridal
flower designs. Some examples include the
"country look."
GOWNS WILL have simple, basic lines- ac-
cented with tucks of lace or ruffles. Wide
brimmed hats for the bride and her attend-
ants, or floral headdresses complete the
country look.
The bride's bouquet will be a basket filled
with white daisies and pink lilies, carnations,
roses, purple cornflowers and yellow daisies.
Characterizing the "romantic" wedding
style, gowns will feature yards of lace or flow-
ing material and a veil resembling a cap
Shakespeare's Juliet might have worn.
The bride should carry long-stemmed white
calla lilies, bound with pink satin ribbon,
reminiscent of turn of the century designs,
for the designed floral effect. Her attendants
carry long-stemmed pink lilies matching her
bouquet.
FOR THE LOOK of a "Victorian" wedding,
the bride will wear a gown with a high neck-
line, ruffles and lace, complemented by a tra-
ditional colonial bouquet of white roses and
daisies, pink heather and streams of pink
ribbon. Attendants will carry a small bouquet
of pale pink roses and carnations with deeper
pink heather.
Finally, for the "timd" bride, a look to
match the times. She::nay wear a feminine,
white belted tunic and matching pants ac-
cented with appliqued daisies.
In keeping with the style, the bride carries
a garland of white daisies rather than the
traditional bouquet. A burst of bright, multi-
colored flowers and ribbon in the garlands
carried by her attendants put the final touch
on the mod look.
