CHRISTMAS PARTY
Sunday afternoon, Dec. 23,
parents, relatives and friends
and Sunday School members,
gathered in Trinity Church
Parish Hall for a Christmas
Party.
Dawn Merner, Ricky John-
ston, Lenny Healy and Andrew
Erickson gave recitations. The
younger Sunday School class
sang "Away In A Manger" and
the older class sang "Silent
Night". The Rector, Rev.
George Youmatoff favoured
with a solo and the gathering
joined in for several Christmas
Carols.
Santa Claus arrived and
distributed gifts and treats to
all the children and the Ladies
Guild served delicious sand-
wiches, cookies, tea and
chocolate milk. Everyone
remarked on the enjoyable im-
promptu old-fashioned Christ-
mas Party.
As the children were leaving
the Hall, Mrs. M.E. Merner,
who was celebrating her birth-
day, handed out ice cream bars,
as a special treat.

Scotchmer,
The following poem was
written by a teenager who is
many miles from home and
sent to her father here in the
Village. Her Father was so
proud of the card that he asked
us to print it.
WRITTEN FOR DAD
Home is where I want to be
Home is where it's at
Horne is family, home is
friends
A sure conclusive fact.
Home is where it's snowing
Stars come out at night
People working, children
play
Snowmen made by light.
Getting close to Christmas
Slush found in the street
Buying gifts, and sending
cards
Everywhere hurried feet.
Sit before the fireplace
Crackling warm as toast
Decor and smells of Christ-
mas
This I miss the most.
And here I am so far away
Loving each cold day
Anxiously waiting for the
time
Going home, safe flight I
pray.
I picture often when I land
The soft and sparkling snow
A skipping record in my mind
I can't wait to go.
I can't wait 'till Christmas
morn
Surprised family faces I'll see
All the gifts I bought with
love
Underneath the tree,
The Family Festival of

We hate to introduce a sour
note in this the season of sweet-
ness, warmth and light, but do
the people who run township
snow plows and clear out our
roads, have to bash in our
brand — new mail — boxes
and send them flying? There
seems to be an open season on,
mail boxes, The containers of
"The Queen's Mail" should be
sacrosanct, surely!
Mr. and , Mrs. Hugh Mid-
dleton and Charles Middleton
of Toronto and Mr. and Mrs.
Keith Hunt of Vancouver were
guests on Boxing Day of Mr.
and Mrs. SteWart Middleton.
