Scotchmer, The following poem was written by a teenager who is many miles from home and sent to her father here in the Village. Her Father was so proud of the card that he asked us to print it. WRITTEN FOR DAD Home is where I want to be Home is where it's at Horne is family, home is friends A sure conclusive fact. Home is where it's snowing Stars come out at night People working, children play Snowmen made by light. Getting close to Christmas Slush found in the street Buying gifts, and sending cards Everywhere hurried feet. Sit before the fireplace Crackling warm as toast Decor and smells of Christ- mas This I miss the most. And here I am so far away Loving each cold day Anxiously waiting for the time Going home, safe flight I pray. I picture often when I land The soft and sparkling snow A skipping record in my mind I can't wait to go. I can't wait 'till Christmas morn Surprised family faces I'll see All the gifts I bought with love Underneath the tree, The Family Festival of Lessons and Carols held in St. James Church Middleton on Sunday December the twenty- third was well attended. —Layili , talii Win' "the' service included Mrs. Fred Middleton, Mr, Ray Wise, Christine Wise, Jim Middleton, Mrs. Stewart Middleton, Mr. Philip Heitbohmer, Mr. James Storey and Mrs. Donald Mid- dleton. Miss Wise is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hodgins and Bob. We hate to introduce a sour note in this the season of sweet- ness, warmth and light, but do the people who run township snow plows and clear out our roads, have to bash in our brand — new mail — boxes and send them flying? There seems to be an open season on, mail boxes, The containers of "The Queen's Mail" should be sacrosanct, surely! Mr. and , Mrs. Hugh Mid- dleton and Charles Middleton of Toronto and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hunt of Vancouver were guests on Boxing Day of Mr. and Mrs. SteWart Middleton.
