BY JABEZ RANDS
Do you remember when they had large gatherings in the
Clinton Town Hall, such as a New Years Eve dance or a
military ball and all the good people with happy faces en-
joyed every minute of it?
In reality, the old Town Hall itself seemed to enjoy it,
with the place all _decorate in streamers from the big chark,,,,
deliers in the ceiiirrort to the walls, looking like the
opening spokes of a very large wheel. There was also bunting
draped around on the walls and around the doors and win-
dows, so that the Town Hall seemed to be all smiles itself.
With all the well dressed gentlemen and the lovely ladies
in their beautiful gowns gliding around the dance floor to
one of the good old familiar waltzes, everything seemed so
relaxing.
The best orchestras all dressed for the occasion with their
instruments in perfect tune.
We must not forget either, the laughter at all the different
shows that were put on in the Hall every year.
The Town Hall was also the centre of attraction on
nomination night and election night.
When looking at it now and thinking of all the fun, joy,
and laughter that has taken place in this Hall, it makes you
feel a little sad, because the Town Hall does not seem to
smile anymore.

Lunch Duty Helpers
A number of pupils from the
grade seven and eight classes at
Hullett Central School help in
the classrooms in the junior
wing at lunch time.
The helpers leave their
classes at twelve noon and go
to one of the junior rooms to
eat their lunch. They help the
younger pupils open their milk
cartons or thermos bottles and
see that any garbage is put in
proper place. The helpers •are
on duty for one week and then
off for two weeks.
The following seniors
pupils are lunch time helpers:

A supply of hard-cooked eggs In your refrigerator will prepare you for all kinds of enter-
taining during the Yuletide season, whether impromptu or planned. These eggs are made
extra festive by the addition of olives, devilled ham, mushrooms or cheese to traditional
stuffed eggs. (Ag. Canada photo)
Entertain with eggs
This Christmas, entertain
with eggs. Quickly and easily,
the ordinary egg can be tran-
sformed into delicious dips,
drinks and appetizers,
satisfying main courses and
tempting desserts. Food Ad-
visory Services, Agriculture
Canada, suggest that you have
a supply of hard-cooked eggs in
your refrigerator when guests
drop in.
Reserve the eggs that are a
few days old (not the ones you
purchased today) for hard
cooking. They are usually

water while peeling.
Combine chopped, hard-
cooked eggs with salad dressing
or cream or cottage cheese and
seasonings for zesty dips. Make'
them into assorted fillings for

carefully to prevent an unat-
tractive dark ring from forming
around the yolk. This ring
results when eggs are cooked
too long or at too high a tem-
perature or when they are not
cooled immediately. Peel eggs
as soon as they are cold. Star-
ting at the large end, crack the
shell by tapping it gently all
over on a hard surface, then
roll the egg between your palms
to loosen it. Start peeling at the
large end of the egg. If the shell
