W. Colquhoun of Clin- ton. Rev. Stan McDonald of Lon- desboro officiated at the double ring ceremony. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a white empire waisted styled dress with pink lace inserts. She carried a bouquet of white and pink mums and daisies. Maid of honor was Valerie Garrow of London, sister of the bride, She wore a rose-.shade dress and carried a bouquet similar to the brides. Robert Miller of Clinton was the groomsman. JOHN T. KNOX John T. Knox of Huronview and formerly of Wingham, passed away at. Huronview on December 7, 1973. He was 83. He was born in Hullett Township on June 23, 1890. He is survived by one daughter Mrs. Stewart (Eileen) Jeffrey of Mississauga; three grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. His first wife, Elizabeth, Florence Wheatly predeceased him "in 194'8, and' his 'second wife Bertha Jane (Dawson) Lott, predeceased him in April 1973. Funeral services were held from the Ball Funeral Home on December 9, 1973 with Rev. Robert H. Armstrong of Wingham officiating. Interment was in Clinton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Jef- frey of Dundas, Bill Chowen and Ken Gibbings of Clinton, Ed Dolmage of Mitchell, and Doug Gibbings and Bob Miller, both of London. MRS. A.L. HOMUTH Funeral service was held Monday December 3, 1973 for Mrs, Albert E. Homuth of 54 John Street east, Wingham, who passed away at her home on Friday November 30,• 1973 in her 87th year after a lengthy illness, Rev. Robert H.-,Arm- strong of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Officiated at the service, at the R.A. Currie and Son Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Interment followed in the Wingham Cemetery, Pallbearers were James Wright of Mitchell, Ross Wright of 'Burlington, David Homuth of Kitchener, Stuart Homuth of London, Kenneth McKague of Wingham and John Radford of J.,ondesboro. Floral tributes were carried to the graveside by Marjory-Ann Grieve of London and Jeanette Donnelly of Goderich. Born in Turnberry Township on June 17, 1887, Mrs. Homuth was the former Bertha Jane McKague, a daughter of the late Robert James McKague and Elizabeth Turnbull. She attended Holmes School, Turn- berry Township, and was a graduate of Stratford BWiness Following the wedding, the immediate families, numbering 34, were guests at a reception at the Candlelight Restaurant in Goderich. Among the guests were grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce McDougall of Strat- ford and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Shobbrook of Londesboro, The bride's uncle, Mr, Ross Millson of Woodstock, was master of ceremonies. Grace was given by the bride's grand- father, Mr. Bert Shobbrook. Toasts were also given. Following the reception, most of the guests returned to the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Ellerby of Clinton. Guests were present from Woodstock, Chatham, Strat- ford, and Londesboro. The bride is an R.N.A. at Victoria Hospital, London. College, She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, the Women's Missionary Society and the Second Mile Club. Left to mourn her passing are one daughter, Mrs. Ross (Grace) Wright of Wingham; four sons, Carl of Mitchell, Albert of Goderich, Herbert of Collingwood and Robert of Clinton; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Robeit McKague of Toronto „and `one, sister, Mrs. Hugh (May) Klager of Toronto. Mrs. Homuth's husband, whom she married in Turn- berry in 1906, died in 1922. She was also predeceased by one son, Trooper Clarence Homuth, 1st Hussars, D-Day 1944; one brother, Jack McKague, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Ruby) Powell and Mrs. Edward (Lucy) Ariss. MRS. W. T. ELLIOTT Rev. Peter Ford, rector of St. Bundan the Navigator Anglican Church, conducted the funeral service December 1 for the late Mrs. Marion Joyce Elliott of 9 Sound Avenue in Port Colborne who died at the Port Colborne General Hospital on November 29. Born in New Carlisle, Quebec, September 10, 1925 to Angus G. Astles and Humie M. (Walker) McCabe she moved to Goderich Township in 1933 with her mother and sister Eileen, who predeceased her in 1946. Her father died in 1931. She attended Taylors Corner Public School, the Goderich Collegiate and Business College in London. She was employed by the Dominion Road Machinery Company and on August 2, 1947 married William T. Elliott and moved to Port Colborne where she resided the rest of her life. Mrs. Elliott is survived by her husband, Captain William T. Elliott; five sons, Larry of Vancouver, William, Bryan and Bruce at home; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McCabe; and one brother Donald of -Goderich Township. Cremation followed the funeral service at the Buffalo crematorium, The home of Mr. and Mrs. G. Vanderhaar was the setting of the Nov. 17 wedding of William Douglas Vanderhaar of RR 2 Hayfield and Anita Louise Tipert of Goderich. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Tipert of Goderich and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gysbert Vanderhaar of RR 2 Bayfield. Rev. A. Beukema of the Christian Reform Church of Clinton presided over the double-ring ceremony. The bride was given away by her brother, 'George Arthur Tipert of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her attire was a beautiful floor-length white gown trim- med with soft lace and accen- ted with falling pink satiny rib- bons. She carried a bouquet of white mums and miniature sweetheart roses adorned with breath of baby ferns. Maid of honor was Miss Brenda Feagan of RR 2 Goderich. She wore a floor- length gown of pink crimp, featuring an A-line style with wide collar and white ac- cessories. She wore matching The Seaforth Junior Band led by Dr. Toll, with assisting artists entertained the residents with a variety program on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Jim Rose played the piano accompaniment for a carol sing led by Doug Stewart. Linda and Ann Albert entertained with a guitar and vocal duet. Piano solos were played by Ann. Stewart, Daryl Shobbrock and Wayne Lyon offered accordion duet and Debbie and Janice Rose rendered a vocal duet. An annual event that is looked forward to with a great deal of interest "The Christmas Fair" was held on Monday af- ternoon and arranged by the Women's Auxiliary. During the day the residents have an op- portunity to do some shopping for gifts which have been donated by various groups within the County, Tea and cookies were served by the Auxiliary in the craft room during the afternoon. The December birthday party was sponsored by the Lon- desboro Women's Institute with 20 celebrants receiving gifts and congratulations following the , program, Mrs. colored ribbons in her hair and carried a nosegay of baby mums and daisies. Groomsman was Fred Van- derhaar, brother of the groom. The groom and his attendant wore navy blazers with accen- ting accessories. The groom's mother received guests wearing a floor-length gown of antique green velvet with gold and silver bodice. Her accessories were gold and her corsage was of baby mums. • The reception was held at the Little Inn in Bayfield. For travelling the bride wore an ensemble of navy palazzo pants with a white trim. Her corsage was of red sweetheart roses. They honeymooned in Toronto and northern Ontario. Prior to the wedding the bride was feted 'at a shower at the home of her mother-in-law where she met all of her neigh- bours-to-be. Guests were from Goderich, Clinton, Port Albert, Bayfield, London and Halifax, Nova Scotia. The couple will reside in their home at RR 2 Bayfield. Eric Anderson was emcee for the afternoon and introduced the entertainment including an accordion solo by Mrs. Genevieve Allen; a sing-a-long with Mrs. Hattie Woods at the piano; and a trip across Canada by colored slides taken by Miss Edith Beacon who also gave a very interesting com- mentary, Miss Mary Turner, who led the honour of being the oldest celebrant this month thanked the ladies on behalf of the Residents. Jim Laurie arranged and in- troduced the variety program for "Family Night". There were step dance numbers by Karen Glousher, Kim Craig and Lee Ann Johnston; ballet dances by Jane Snell, Cathy Falconer; Scottish dances by Sherri Mar- shal; vocal duets by Rachel and Mark Bettye. Jim Laurie dressed in kilts and sang several scottish songs and joined Lloyd Wafters and Harvey McDowell for a har- monica trio accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Ruby Philips. Rev. Lawrence Lewis of- ficiated at the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Doris McLinley was the organist and she played "Song of Joy" as the bridal party entered the church, "Theme from Romeo and Juliet," "We've only Just Begun," and "Love Story" while the register was being signed and the Recessional Wedding March when the wed- ding party left the church. The bride given in marriage by her parents, looked radiant in a beautiful wedding gown of Lagoda crepe, accented with real Guipure lace, an empire waist, fitted sleeves, and a mid- Victorian neckline. Her three layered illusion 'veil was held by a beautiful , cluster' of flowers, She carried a' cascade of yellow roses and white shasta daisies, intermingled by streamers of yellow satin rib- bon. The matron of honor was Mrs. Margaret McCauley of Seaforth and the bridemaid was Miss Anne Cameron of Seaforth. Both looked char- ming in moss green silk velvet gowns, with candlelight lace in- serts, stand-up collars with bouffant sleeves and empire waistlines. They carried cir- cular bouquets of rust colored mums, white and yellow shasta daisies and yellow and pale orange streamers of ribbon. Harvey Holland of Clinton was the groomsman and Joseph Lobb of Clinton was the usher. Both were dressed, along with the groom, in black tux :edos and wore boutineers of white carnations sprayed with yellow. Following the wedding, a reception and dance was held at the White Carnation with the open reception at P p.m. featuring the "Blue Water Playboys." The bride's mother greeted guests wearing a floor-length chiffon gown, in a blue floral pattern and long sheer chiffon sleeves. Her corsage featured three pink carnations and a deep pink ribbon. The groom's mother was dressed in a sleeveless floor-length chiffon gown in a yellow floral pattern, with a corsage of deep pink car- nations with a pale yellow rib- bon. For a honeymoon trip to the Collingwood area, the bride changed into plaid slacks, cream crepe blouse, brawn 'shrink and matching ac- cessories, with. a corsage rust carnations with orange and brown ribbon. Prior to her wedding, the bride was honored at showers given by Mrs. Margaret McCauley and Miss Anne Cameron, and at a shower given by Mrs. Bernice Pugh and Phyllis Lodge. The couple are residing in Clinton.
