A.C.W. MEETING
The A.C.W. of St. Paul's
Anglican Church was held at
the rectory in Exeter. The
president, Mrs. G.A. Anderson
opened the meeting with the
members prayer, and the
Lord's prayer. The minutes
were rea d, and approved. A
report on the bazaar and bake
sale was given and was most
gratifying. The 1974 calendars
were distributed,
The roll call was answered
by naming six things we have
to be thankful for. Mrs. A. Reid
took the study, make frien-
dliness your aim. A Bible study
followed led by Mrs. Anderson.
The meeting closed with the
Grace.
EXPLORERS
The Explorers of Carmel
Presbyterian Church met on
Sunday morning to blast off
their winter program. Space
Probe 1 "Becoming Aware of
Others" was the theme.
Leader Mrs, Al Hoggarth
welcomed the crew. At the com-
mand module, the crew enjoyed
a game of observance, then for
Orbit 1, Murray Taylor and
Paul Hoggarth made and
described a space rocket. For
Orbit II, Darlene Faber retold
the story "A sister watching",
and for Orbit III Bruce Thomp-
son and Greg Hoggarth
prepared and presented the
worship,
C.O.C. LEADERS
The C.O.C. of Carmel
Presbyterian Church met Sun-
day morning in the Church
basement. New leaders for this
group are Donna Bell and
Cherri Bonthron. C.O.C. scar-
ves were made and presented
to the group. A Christmas party
is planned for the December
meeting.
CHURCH NOTES
Selections from the Youth
Choir highlighted the Sunday
service of worship in Hensall
United Church. The choir un-
der the direction of Mrs.
Norma Pryde and assisted by
Brenda Pepper sang two num-
bers. Wendy, John and Sandra
Dixon sang ..p number alone.
Brian Lobb of R.R. 2, Clinton a member of the North Huron
Hog Producers 4-H Swine Club, won the Victoria and
Grey Trust Award at last Friday night's Achievement
night. Brian was the champion swine showman at the
Seaforth Fall Fair. Here Lyle Zurbrigg, manager of the

A. community shower was
held on Friday evening in the
Foresters Hall for Elaine
McClure prior to her marriage
on December 14th to Jim
Floyd.
Elaine was seated at the
front in a decorated chair. Her
mother, Mrs, Sam McClure and
Jim's mother, Mrs', Sidney
Floyd, assisted her in opening
her many useful gifts,
Mrs, Sidney Floyd, her sister
Ethel and Mrs, Ken Allen were
present from London for the
shower.
The program opened with a
sing-song accompanied by Ella
Jewitt, Anna Dolmage gave a
reading followed by a
'Women's Lib Mock Wedding.
Elaine thanked the ladies very
fittingly.

say and Miss Sheila Baker of
Winthrop spent the weekend in
Ottawa with Mr. and Mrs.
Barry Powley.

The senior choir sang the an-
them "They that trust in the
Lord" accompanied by Mrs.
Turkheim at the organ,
Rev. Don Beck preached on
the sermon topic "Desire for
Certainty". Next Sunday will
be Advent 1 with the
Sacrament of Holy Com-
munion.
The History of Hensall
United Church has been com-
piled by Mrs, Mabel Shirray. It
was recently distributed to the
Congregation in booklet form,
and has been received with a
great deal of enthusiasm.
The A.C.W. of St. James,
Middleton will hold its annual
meeting at the home of Mrs.
Stewart Middleton on Thur-
sday December 6 at 8 p.m. Mrs.
Edward Wise and Mrs. James
Storey are in charge of the
program.
