NOTICE TO CREDITORS Do you remember BY JABEZ RANDS Do you remember when the street lights of Clinton were lit with a match? Weil at one time, they were because they used coal oil lamps set up in glass cases on the top of wooden or iron posts. There were quite a number of iron posts on Main Street. A few of them were possibly taken down in late 1889 when ten electric arc lamps were installed in Town by the late David Graham. who started an electric plant. The coal oil lamps practically disappeared in late 1910 when 116 incandescent street lights were installed around town. , There was one of the original iron styled light posts for some time on Ontario Street at the Molson's Bank building, in front of the doors that led upstairs to the rooms over the bank, These rooms were for some time the Clinton Knitting Company Club Rooms.
