A meeting will be held on
Monday December 3 in the
Community Centre at 7;30 p.m.
to elect an executive for the
1974 season and also discuss
the past season and plans for
the coming season.
The reason for such an early
meeting is to elect a delegate to
attend a meeting at the County
level on December 9th.
Robin Gates has been elected
treasurer of the Huron Minor
Soccer Associations for 1974.

wedding vows with Kenneth
Charles Thiel, son of Mr. and
-Mrs. Stewart Thiel,,Zurich r on
Saturday, Nov. 10, 1973 at 7
p.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran
Church, Zurich.
Rev. Andrew Blackwell of-
ficiated at the ceremony in a
setting of candelabras and pot-
ted white mums.
The soloist, Mrs. Belva Fuss,
Hensall, cousin of the bride
sang "Two Shall Be One" and
"The Wedding Prayer", accom-
panied on the organ by Mrs.
Lenora Turkheim, Zurich.
Given in marriage by her
father the bride chose a gown
of nylon lagoda fashioned with
a high neckline, long full
sleeves, empire waist, with a
detachable chapel train
elaborately trimmed with chan-
tilly lace and tiny sequins. The
mantilla headpiece held a
cathedral length veil also edged
in chantilly lace. She carried a
bouquet of white shasta daisies
accented with red star flowers.
Mrs. Carol Davidson, Lon-
don, sister of the bride was
matron of honor. She wore a
hot pink A-line gown with a
high neckline and long fitted
sleeves elegantly trimmed with
ruffles and white brocade lace
on the bodice and around the
sleeves and collar, accented
with matching pink bows of rib-
bon in her hair. She carried a
nosegay of white shasta daisies
with red star flowers and long
pink ribbon to match her dress.
The bridesmaids, Mrs.
Eunice Taylor, Brucefield,
sister of the groom; Miss Cathy
Fuss, Hensall, cousin of the
bride; and Miss Ruth Ann
Neilans, Clinton, friend of the
bride, were dressed identically
to that of the matron of honor.
The best man Was Hubert
Thiel, Zurich, brother of the
groom, and the guests were
ushered by Craig Davidson,
London, brother-in-law of the
bride, Wayne Keller, Zurich,
friend of the groom and Jerry
Thiel, Zurich, brother of the
groom. They wore royal blue
tuxedos trimmed with black
velvet.
The mother of the bride wore
a mauve sleeveless gown with
matching long sleeve coat and
a corsage of mauve and pink
carnations with a matching
headpiece.
The mother of the groom
wore a blue gown with a cor-
sage of yellow roses and a mat-
ching headpiece.
A reception followed at the
Zurich Com , Centre, For their
wedding trip, the bride chose a
multi-coloured two—piece suit
with a corsage of purple car-
nations,

business at the November
meeting of the Goderich and.
District Association for the
Mentally Retarded was the sale
of Christmas cards by the
Association. The cards now on
McKillop
pioneer
dies at 101
Isabella McClure, the last
surviving member of a family
which homesteaded on the 4th
concession of McKillop Town-
ship in the 1800s, died Monday
in Seaforth at the age 101.
Miss McClure was one of six
daughters and five sons born to
George McClure and his wife
Sarah (Torrance).
In 1912, Miss McClure
moved to Seaforth and cared
for her invalid sister Rebecca
for 25 years and worked at
dressmaking. In 1965, she
moved into the Kilbarchan
Nursing Home in Seaforth.
She was born Sept. 2, 1872,
on the family farm which now
is occupied by a nephew,
Nelson McClure.

The young couple are
residing at RR 1, Zurich.
Prior to her marriage, the
bride was honored by two
miscellaneous showers. One
was at4behome of Mrs. Eunice
Taylor, Brucefield and the
.other at the home of Mrs.
Belva . Fuss and girls which
many relatives and friends at-
tended. Neighbours of the bride
gathered at the home of Mrs.
Edna Wheeler of Clinton,
where lunch was served and a
gift presented.
A surprise party was also
held for the bride in her honor
by the Clinton Girls Hockey
Team, of which she was a mem-
ber.
The bride and groom were
honored at still another sur-
prise party by friends and
relatives in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Jerry Thiel of Zurich.
Sale are of four designs, each
designed by a mentally retar,
ded person. The price is $1,35
for a package of ten. They may
be obtained from any
Association member, the
Workshop in the Kinsmen
Building, Goderich, French Dry
Cleaners, West Street,
.Goderich or The Village Store
in Saltford.
Clinton is a part of The
Goderich and District
Association for the Mentally
Retarded, and purchase of
these Christmas cards leads to
a better, and happier life for the
mentally retarded in our area,
as well as reminding us of our
own special blessings,

The World Affairs meeting of
Kippen East W.I. was held at
the home of Mrs. Harry Cald-
well with Mrs. Grant McGregor
co-hostess.
The members brought a
souvenir they had received
from another country.
Souvenirs came from Mexico,
Scotland, Spain, Holland,
Ireland, Denmark, Jamaica,
France, England, Switzerland
and Canary Islands.
Mrs. Alex McGregor com-
mented on the motto, "World
Affairs are our Affairs". Mrs.
Grant MacLean gave the
history of the R.C.M.P. and
,Mrs. H. Caldwell commented
Son her spoon collection, spoons
on display which came from
coast to coast in Canada,
Yukon, Alaska N.W.T.
Australia, New Zealand and
Britain.
Several musical numbers
were contributed by Mrs. R.
Kinsman and J.E. Caldwell.
Mrs. J. Drummond gave a
report of the District Board
meeting and conducted a con-
test. Mrs. Ross Broadfoot gave
the citizenship and world af-
fairs report.
Mrs. M. Connolly, the
president, chaired the business
and read a poem on "Home".
Mrs. Grant McLear took the
chair for the program and Mrs.
Charles Eyre gave Courtesy
Remarks. Foods from China,
Italy, Holland, Switzerland,
Poland, Germany, Canada,,
U.S.A. India, Cuba, Brazil and

The eighth meeting of the
"Saucy Saucepans" was held
on November 12 at the Wesley
Willis Church.
We had a buffet style supper
which everyone enjoyed. There
was a marvellous array'of food
which consisted of such things
as: baked beans, scalloped
potatoes, goulash, lettuce
salads, jello salads, cabbage
rolls, a meat tray, different
types of cheese, rusks, German
tea squares, spice drop cookies,
fortune cookies and cake. The
fortunes in the fortune cookies
gave many people startling
news. This supper was enjoyed
by the members, leaders and
the guests.
