, The Clinton Mustangs
managed to hold onto first
Place in the OHA Junior "D"
Western League after playing
only one game this week.
A 3.2 win over the Exeter
Hawks left Clinton the only un-
defeated team in the league
with five wins and one tie. The
Mitchell Hawks were the last
undefeated team to fall as the
Belmont Sunsets defeated them
3-2 last Saturday, night.

In the third race, Victor H,

driving. In the sixth race

driven by William Caldwell
was out of the money. In the
eighth race Miss Direct Baker

MacDonald driving.
Wednesday night at the Lon-
don oval in the sixth race Jay
Bee Blaze owned by Benson
Feagan of Goderich was the
winner with .Gerry Roebuck on
the bike. The mile was in 2:09.1
and the payoff was $8.80.
In the fifth race Thursday
night, Flying Apollo owned by
John Buxton of Crediton and
driven by William Caldwell of
Clinton was fifth. In the eighth
race Jimmy The Butler owned
by Robert and H, 0. Jerry was
fourth with Robert on the bike,
Friday night at London in
the second race, Sebringville
owned by Ray Mathers and
driven by John Mathers both of
Goderich was fourth. Fifth in
the same race was to Kings
Brother owned by Thomas
McLean and driven by W.
McLean both of Goderich. In
the fifth race Scotts Boy owned
by Edith Samis and driven by
John Duckworth both of
Goderich was fifth. Single
Johnnie owned and, driven by
John Muir of Seaforth was
second in the eighth race.
Saturday night at London in
the second period with Wayne
Reiger sitting it out for Exeter
for tripping proved to be the
winner,
The other Clinton goals were
scored by Brian Lane and. Mare
yin Kale.
The game, which was not a
very fast and exciting game,
saw the hometown boys play
before the largest crowd - over
300 - this year,
The Mustangs also have

night when he won the Mid-
dlesex County Pacing Series.
Saturday night marked the
close of the fall meet at Lon-
don. The handle at London was
a record for any fall meet when
$4,113,023 went through the
machines, The attendance was
down with only 90,101 for the 32
nights.

sonality won the seventh race
for the partnership of Whetham

on the bike. The, mile was in
2:10 and the payoff was
$112.50. In the same race

was out of the money.
Friday night at London, in
the third race Pebbles Girl

was fourth with Gerry Roebuck
driving. In the fourth race

Atom
House
League
In the first game of atom
house league action last Satur-
day, the Blues defeated the
Canadians 3-1. Tony Gibbings
scored twice and Ian Reid
scored the other' for the Blues,
while the lone scorer for the
Canadians was Jim Fleming.
In the second game, the
Bruins shut out the Leafs 3-0.
Vince Brochu scored twice and
Mike Woods scored the
remaining goal.
The Clinton Colts opened
their schedule on a winning
note by edging a young and
determined Lucknow squad 4-3
last Friday night here in Clin-
ton. A goal by ex-Junior Gord
Riley early in the third frame
proved to be the winner. Other
Colt marksmen were Mel
Rohner, Dean Reid and Joe
Livermore.
Although the Colts were vic-
torious in their first game,
coach Paul Draper was not im-
pressed by the Colt's play,

SENIOR FOOTBALL
On Tuesday, November 6, the
senior Redmen travelled to
Exeter to play a sudden-death
semi-final. The Redmen came
up with a .9-0 victory and
gained the right to adVance to
the finals against Goderich,
Gerry Lobb scored the only
touchdown of the game and
Bill Cantelon kicked the Con-
vert. The other two points came
on a safety touch.
In Saturday's game against
Goderich, the Redmen were
defeated by a strong Goderich
team 23-0. The senior Redmen
finished the year with a record
of 7 wins and 3 losses.
Many thanks go to the
coaches, Mr. Reidy and Mr.
Weber who devoted much of
their time to the football team,
JUNIOR FOTTBALL
The junior football Redmen
ended a very successful season
as runners-up to the Huron-
Perth Champions, South Huron
Panthers,
In the semi-final, they edged
Stratford Northwestern 1-0 in a
hard fought battle played on a
very snowy field. CHSS' only
point came on a single by John
Graham. This win advanced
them to the final against South
Huron in Exeter.
In Exeter on Saturday, the
defences of both teams held
firm throughoutregulation
downfall but superb goalten-
ding by Dennis Fleischauer
enabled them to take a victory
to the dressing room. In the
game the Colts were assessed
42 minutes in penalties.
The Colts are on the road
this week as they travel to
Listowel (Tuesday, November
13th) to play the Jets while on
Friday night they journey to
Harriston to battle with their
talent. Game time in Harriston
is 8:30, Anyone wishing to at-
tend the game in Harriston on
Friday night are advised to be
at the arena at 6:30 as the
time with the score tied at 0-0,
The teams then played two
overtime periods which also
came up scoreless. After seven
minutes of sudden-death,
Exeter scored the touchdown
that sunk the Redmen. After
the 75 minute marathon game
the score was 6-0 in favor of
Exeter,
The team wishes to thank
coaches Mr. Clynick, Mr.
Munroe and Mr. Reeve for
their time and energy as well as
the student body for their en-
thusiastic support during the
season.
CHEERLEADERS
The senior and junior
Cheerleaders went into stiff
competition last Saturday in
Exeter. They went as one squad
instead of two separate ones,
The Central Huron
Cheerleaders finished third,
being beaten by second place
Stratford Central, and first
place Exeter.
After the competition tney
cheered for the junior and
senior football teams. The
