. Following the wedding, a
reception was held in the Clin-
ton Legion Hall, which was
decorated with red roses and
myrtle and streamers in the
colors of the bridesmaids'
dresses.
The mother of the bride
received guests wearing a full-
length gown of silver metallic
rayon and lurex and she wore a
corsage of red roses. The
mother of the groom was
gowned in a full-length green
nylon swiss over crepe dress
and she wore a corsage of red
roses.
For a honeymoon trip to
Mattawa and Georgian Bay,
the bride changed into a beige
dress with a corsage of red
St. Paul's Anglican Church
was the setting for the Septem-
ber 22 wedding of Kathleen
Mae McPherson, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Harold McPher-
son of RR 5, Clinton and
Gregory Clark Ball, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Clark Ball of John
Street in Clinton.
Rev. Stanley Sharpies con-
ducted the double ring
ceremony while Kathy Potter
played the organ,
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a
classical .gown of twinkle
crystalette with mandarin
collar and short sleeves. Her
long chapel train was trimmed
with Alencon lace as was her
dress. She carried a white bible
with red roses and a white rib-
bon.
Matron of Honour was Mrs.
Cindy Fleet of Clinton who
wore a gown of Victorian in-
fluence style appliqued with
red velvet roses and white car-
nations on a white crystalette
background.
Attendants were Miss Sally
Walden of London and Julie
Taylor of Clinton, cousin of the
bride. Little Joy Cudmore,
cousin of the bride was the

The president, Pearl Cum-
mings opened the meeting with
a poem "Humble
Thanksgiving" followed by the
housewife's creed, and the
Lord's Prayer in unison,
The secretary, Mrs, Edna
Adams, read the minutes of the
last meeting, the treasurer,
Viola Lampman gave the finan-
cial statement, Irene Glazier
gave the flower and card
report. There had been 50
hospital and 21 housecalls
made to sick and shutins
during the month.
Winners of the Dutch auction
were Viola Managhan, Mrs.
Nivins, Viola Lampman, Mrs.
Leppington, Margaret Thorn-
dike, Dorothy Frey, and Jennie
Wise. Mystic prize went to
Bessie Coiclough.
The Birthday Banquet will
be held on Nov. 21 at the
Rebekah Hall at 6 p.m,
Everyone to bring an article for
the penny sale.
The program consisted of
reading by Leona Lockhart,
and several organ selections
which were very much enjoyed.
The next meeting will take
the form of a pot-luck dinner at
1 p.m. on Dec. 6. Everyone is to
bring their own dishes and this
will also be a Christmas Party
with exchange of Christmas
gifts at the home of Viola Lam-
prnan, Mrs. Joe Carter and
Mrs. Margaret Thorndike will
bring articles for the Dutch
auction,
flowergirl, All were dressed
similar to the matron of
honour.
The groomsman was Andy
Wiekowski of Dashwood and
the ushers were Steven
McPherson, brother of the
bride and Douglas Ball, cousin
of the groom. Jason Stanley of
Kitchener, nephew of the
groom was the ringbearer.
The reception was held in the
Clinton Legion Hall where the
bride's mother received guests
wearing a mint green party-
time gown in fine sheer with
Victorian neckline, and long
Bishop sleeves complemented
by a corsage of red carnations.
The groom's mother wore a
royal blue imported crystalette
jersey, long-sleeve jacket gown
and a corsage of pink car-
nations,
Prior to her wedding, the
bride was entertained to
showers given by Mrs. Merv.
Hanley and Mrs. Leona
Lockhart, aunts of the bride at
the home of Mrs. Hanley. Mrs.
Paul Walden and her daughter
Sally gave a miscellaneous
shower at their home.
The couple are residing in
Guelph.

411 meets
HOLMESVILLE 4-H
The seventh meeting of
Country Chefs was held on
Nov. 5 at Holmesville Public
School at 7 p.m. It started out
with the 4-H pledge, followed
by the roll call.
We discussed' the Oriental
cookery of China, Japan, and
India and then we took up the
handout sheets. The demon-
stration was done by Carole.
Weber and Ann Elliott, They
made Almond Cake which
tasted very good and each
almond cake had its very own
fortune in it.
All three groups got together
and ate together and enjoyed'
everything.

MRS. LAURA TOLL
Pastor Alfred Fry conducted
the funeral service November 2
for the late Mrs. Laura Emma
Toll who died at Huronview on
October 30 in her 81st year.
Born September 12, 1893, in
Hullett Township to William
Stewart and the former Selina
Trewin, she was a resident of
Hullett Township and Clinton
until her marriage.
On December 28, 1915 she
was married to Frederick
William Toll who predeceased
her on October 5, 1969.
Following her marriage she
resided in East Wawanosh
Township and later Auburn.
Mrs. Toll was a member of
Knox United Church, Auburn,
a life member of the United
Church Women and a former
member of the Auburn
Women's Institute.. ;
She is survived by two
daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Mar-
jorie) McDougall, Auburn and
Mrs. Hugh (Amy) MacCrostie,
Goderich; two sons, Aubrey of
RR 3, Blyth and Stewart of
London; ten grandchildren and
three great grandchildren; and
one sister, Mrs. Edith Vincent
of Lucknow.
Pallbearers were six grand-
sons, Vaughan Toll, Terry Toll,
Warren Toll, Allan McDougall,
Dale MacCrostie and Gordon
Gross. Flowerbearers were Tom
Cronin, Lloyd Stewart and Clif-
ford Adams.
ALBERT EDWARD
FREMLIN
Albert Edward Fremlin of
160 Fredrick Street in Clinton
passed away in Clinton Public
Hospital on October 26 after an
illness of two years. He was 89.
Mr. Fremlin was born on
July 11, 1884 in Clinton, a son
of the late Henry Fremlin and
Harriet Knight.
He was educated in Clinton
and served in the 161 Regiment
in the First World War.
Following his return, he
worked at the Doherty Organ
Factory and was Clinton's
Chief of Police from 1935 to
1945.
On June 3, 1915, he married
the former Mary Elizabeth
Dillon in Sombra Ontario, She
survives him. The couple lived
at their Fredrick Street home
for 56 years,
Mr. Fremlin was a member
of St. Paul's Anglican Church
and in his youth, he was an ac-

GEORGE LINDSAY SMITH
George Lindsay Smith of
Bayfield passed away in
Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital in Goderich on Oc-
tober 31 after a short illness. He
was 65,
Mr, Smith was born on
January 14, 1908 in Hayfield, a
son of the late Richard and
Margaret Lindsay. He received
his education in Hayfield and
for many years he carried the
mail as well as farmed. He was
a member of the United Church
and the Bayfield Orange Lodge
LOL No. 24.
On October 23, 1937 he
married the former Lulu
Ruthena Jewell in London, On-
tario. She survives him.
Besidef his wife ,he,s ,sur-
vived by one son Ronald Smith
of Goderich, one daughter;Mrs.
Frank (Margaret) Recheck of
Ingersoll and three grand-
children.
Funeral services were held
from the Ball Funeral Home in
Clinton with Rev. James Red-
doch in charge. Burial was in
Bayfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill Parker,
Harry Baker, Gordon Scotch-
rner, Brown Higgins, John Lin-
dsay and Brown Lindsay, all of
Hayfield.
Flower bearers were Bill
Heard and Ivan Steckle, both
of Bayfield.

vived by two sons, Richard D.
of Clinton and Gerald of Ot-
tawa; three daughters, Mrs.
W.M. (Nora) Adams of West
Hill Ont., Mrs. R. (Violet)

and Mrs. H. (Harriet) Louch of
Willowdale Ont.; 13 grand-
children; one great-grandchild;
and one sister, Mrs. Tom
(Millie) Watt of Stratford.
Funeral services were held
from the Ball Funeral Home on
October 29, 1973 with Rev,
Peter Packenham in charge, In-
terment was in Clinton
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Patrick
Dunlop of Wallaceburg, George
Campbell, R.G. Draper, Russell
Beyer, Percy Livermore, and
Fred Elliott, all of Clinton.
Flowerbearers were Richard

of Cheryl Ann Hackenbrook,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs,
Duane G. Hackenbrook of Vic-
toria Avenue Vanastra, and
Randy Harold Newton, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Newton of
Milton, Ontario.

the double-ring ceremony.
"Given in marriage by her
parents, the bride wore a satin
full-length gown, featuring long
sleeves, a high neck of satin
and lace, an empire waisted
bodice with a satin bow and
she wore a head piece of mat-
ching satin and pearls. The
train and veil were trimmed
with lace and she carried two
dozen red roses,
Matron of honor was Lori
McClinchey of Bayfield who
wore a blue full-length, long-
sleeved Swiss gown with an em-
pire waist trimmed with mat-
ching bows and ties and mat-
ching string of blue daisies
through her hair. She carried a
bouquet of white daisies and
blue 'carnations.
