Ontario Grass Drag Champion-
ships at Hully Gully at Varna
last Sunday.

schedule Monday September
3rd with two games. The six
teams are playing a round,
robin series with the top two
teams meeting in a -two out of
three series at the end.

Thomas Royals defeated Clin-
ton S.C. by a score of 5-4.
Clinton, playing with a full
team and substitutes for the
first time in weeks, came out
strongly and although they
went down by one goal early in
the first half, they remained
undaunted and Brian Jewitt
tied the score with a well taken
goal after fine play by Arm-
strong and Lipp. Clinton then
took control of the game and in
rapid succession Glen
McLachlan, Bill Cantelon and
Danny Colquhoun added three
more goals.
At half-time, the score stood
at. 4-1 for Clinton.
In the second half, St.
Thomas changed their tactics
and played a much stronger
game. Finally, with Clinton
now playing lack lustre soccer
and showing no determination,
St. Thomas scored three quick
goals on defensive errors by
Clinton.
With the score now tied at
four goals each, Clinton gave
up and it, was no surprise when
St. Thomas added the winning
goal to make the final score 5-4

In Clinton Court last week,
John Shanahan of Clinton was'
sentenced to two months in jail
for leaving the scene of an ac-
cident and fined $200 for
careless driving.
Kenneth Deweerd was fined
$151) and had his license
suspended for three months, af-
ter he was found guilty of im-
paired driving. Norman John
Sim was fined $20 and costs for
operating a motorcycle without
the proper license.
Two area youths each
received $40 fines for squealing
tires on their cars. Convicted of
making unnecessary noise were
John D, Guetter and Keith Bot-
tema.

In an experiment to speed up
express bus service in Miami,
bus drivers are to be equipped
with special transmitters to
change traffic lights from red to
green as the buses approach the
intersections, reports the On-
