Directory BY MARY mERNEF;
particular they will satisfy the
concerned parties. In the wed-
ding write-up of "Warnmes-
Steepe" we reported Mrs. Doug
Wammes as a shower hostess -
this should have read Mrs.
Doug Norman,
It is not often that an item
for Town Talk arrives on the
writer's own doorstep - qqite
literally, On Tuesday of this
week a former Clintonian - very
well known - came back for a
one day visit. Mrs. May Rance
Mackinnon of Etobicoke, ac-
companied by her two
daughters, Mrs. R, Hunt
(Mary) of Brantford, and Mrs.
'John Motyer (Marny) of
Etobicoke, visited with Mrs,
John Harley of William Street,
While in town Mrs. Mackinnon
took a quick trip down to the
former Jackson house on the
Bayfield Road (now the home
of the writer) where she grew
up as May Rance. Many will
remember this talented lady for
her fine work in the community
and especially with the
children's choir of St. Paul's
Anglican Church. One of her
productions in this connection
was "The Sign of the Cross",
the proceeds of which were
donated to the Clinton Pub lic/
Hospital. Many of her former
pupils will remember her well
as a teacher of music, both
privately and in the elementary
school.
Of particular interest to her
are the memorial windows in
St. Paul's church, many of
which are in memory of mem-
bers of her family.
Altogether - for May Rance
the day was a sentimental jour:
ney back to the town in which
she grew up and for which she
still holds a deep attachment.
A clipping was kindly
brought in to the Town. Talk
desk this week reporting an
honour fora former Clinton
youth. Mr, Roger D. Gawp has
been elected as a director of
Federal Pioneer Limited, Mr,
Garon, a native of Sherbrooke,
Quebec, and a resident of St.
Hyacinthe, is the chairman of
the board of KT Products, and
president and chief executive
officer of Aronelle Textiles
Limited. He is the son of Mr.
Antoine (Red) Garon of Clin-
ton where he grew up and at-
tended elementary and secon-
dary schools.
