The mile was in 2.14.2 with a payoff of $2.60. Second was King's Brother owned by Thomas McLean and driven by Bill McLean. Gar's Pride owned by Lorne Logan and driven by Robert Faulds was third, In the second race Minidale owned by Clifford Walsh was out of the money with Frank MacDonald on the bike. In` the third race Derby Bob was second for owner Robert McLean with Randy on' the bike. Third was Pebbies Girl owned by George and Ron Feagan with Gerry Roebuck driving. Deep Run Billy owned by Mr. and Mrs. W.O. McLean was fourth with Bill on the bike. Fifth was Sammy Seaway owned and driven by MacSewers. In the fourth race, Meadow J Rhythm owned by Alfred Grummett and driven by Den- nis Jewitt was the winner in 2.14.3 and the payoff was $5.90. Both Brenda Hope owned by Carl and Grant Fisher with Carl on the bike and Golden Chance owned by Mrs. Ron Williamson with Ron on the bike were out of the money. In the fifth race, Brian Suc- cess owned by Gordon and Wilfred Denomme was third with Del Bedard on the bike. The sixth race went to Nancy's Puke owned by R.A. and B.R. Vanastra Gun Club last Monday held in honor of Dr. Andy Rynne of Mitchell, Bill Stewart of Goderich won the trophy in the "A" class with a near perfect 49 out of 50 score. Tom Jardin' of Wingham was second with 46 and Louis Morello of Mitchell was third with 43. In the "B" division, Mervin Batkin of Clinton took the top prize home with 40 hits while Ocilen Mogck of Stratford was "second with 38 bird hits. In the "C" class, Bill McNutt of Hensall won the trophy with 38 hits, while Harrison Schock of Zurich was second with 32 and Paul Wheeler of Clinton was third with 29. Trophies for the event were donated by Stewart Aluminum Sales of Goderich, At the trap shoot last Wed- was $63.30. Scotch A Plenty owned and driven by Wayne Dupee was second. Claybrook Ricci owned by Kenneth Holmes was fifth with Ron' Williamson on the bike. Wayne Express was the seventh race winner for owner driver George Caldwell, The mile was in 2.11.3, and the payoff was $18.90.. Royal Colleen owned by Don Beatson, was third with Gerry Roebuck on the bike. Fourth was Crim- son Josie, owned and driven by Bruce Volland. Pink Panther owned by James Lam and driven by Dennis Jewitt was out of the money, Scarlet Slipper owned by Grant and Carl Fisher won the eighth race with Carl on the bike in 2.09.3 and paid $8.80. Scotts Boy owned by Edith Semis and driven by John Duckworth was fourth. Jimmy The Butler owned by Robert and H.O. Jerry was out of the money. In the tenth race Artic John owned by Larry Dale and driven by Ron Williamson was fourth. Fifth went, to Thought- ful Louise owned by David Henderson and driven by Gerry Roebuck. Sebringville owned by Ray Mathers and driven by John was out of the money. At the Clinton Raceway last Sunday, Lee Camp was the third race winner for owner Bruce Dupee and driver Wayne in 2.11.2. The payoff was $4.90. Tarragon , owned by John• Cox and John Doran was third with Ron Williamson on the bike. At the Orangeville oval Sun- day True Personality owned by the partnership of Whitham and Sadler was the fifth race winner with Don Corbett up. The time was 2.08 and the payoff $9.50. At Goderich Wednesday, Scotch A Plenty was claimed for Reg Gordon from Wayne Dupee. At Clinton Sunday, Champ Herbert lowered the track record four fifths of a second when he won the tenth race in 2.05 flat. Champ Herbert is owned by Jack and Andy Hardy with Andy driving. The payoff was $3.20. Greenwood summer meet closed Saturda'y and the horses have switched over to Garden City. WinghSm* , Louis Morello of Mitchell and Don Bricker of Goderich were tied for second spot with 23 each. Tied at 22 each were Bill Stewart of Goderich, Glenn Mogck of Stratford and Mery Batkin of Clinton. Other scores include; Dr. Andy Rynne of Mitchell and Dave Schlemmer of Stratford, 21 each; Harrison Schock of Zurich 17, and Ashley Gilbert of Goderich, 16. round out the league. Special shoot held at club Hockey Colts to meet Association needs more Jack Goddard of Huron Park was named president of the South Huron Referee Association at the group's an- nual meeting held in Hensel!, Sunday. The secretary-treasurer is Rick Funston, also of Huron Park while the referee-in-chief is Pat O'Brien of Hensall. The Association is looking for persons interested in refereeing this winter regar- dless of experience, as many clinics sponsored by the OMHA and the SHRA are being plan- ned for the near future. Any prospective officials are asked to'contact Pat O'Brien at 262-2615 as soon as possible. The first games are slated for September 31. During the 1972-73 season, referees members of the South Huron Referees Association handled a total of 440 games in the South Huron Hockey League, the Exeter, London and Ausable Rec leagues, district minor games for Grand Bend, Zurich,.
