Mr. and Mrs. Ken Wood of Wingham held a family dinner Wednesday evening August 29 to celebrate the wedding an- niversary of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Wood who have been married 44 years on August 28, his sister {Lois) Mr. and Mrs. Bill Andrews of Toronto, 19 years on August 28 and 15 years on August 23 for Mr. and Mrs. Ken Wood. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Arm- strong attended the 50th wed- ding anniversary on Saturday, September 1 for Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Patterson, Blyth held at their home, and at Auburn hail in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. David Fairser- vice and Maureen of Dollard Des Ormeaux, Quebec spent 10 days vacation with his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Fairservice and Ann. CHEERIO CLUB The Cheerio Club held their meeting at the home of Mrs. Ena Howatt on Wednesday, August 29. Dora Shobbrook opened the meeting with a thought 'Be not angry'. Scrip- ture was read by Ena Howatt and meditation on Scripture and prayer was by Dora Shob- brook. The minutes of last meeting and the treasurer's report were read by secretary Ida Durnin. Mrs. Townsend reported the black Hymnarie's were still being used in the church. It was moved that roll call be current event with a 5c fine if not an- swered. The September meeting will be in charge of Group 2 at the home of Elsie Youngblutt. A cushion top was donated by Tri Duizer for a draw and won by Ena Howatt. Roll call was an- swered by 12 members and one visitor. The meeting closed with a hymn. The program included a reading by Mrs. Townsend "On the way to Elim" written by Rev. Nominations were held; president, Marlene Sewers; vice-president, Cheryl Reed; secretary, Madelyn Sewers; press reporter, Julia Bowie. Leaders are Marjorie Duizer and Marjorie Anderson who demonstrated blueberry buckle and lemon sauce. Mrs, Jessie Jones visited on Sunday with her daughter, Mr, and Mrs. Ken Moore and family of Egmondville. Greg Andrews returned to his home in Toronto on Satur- day having spent past 2 and a half months holidaying with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Wood. , Mr. and Mrs. Will Manning moved to their home in Blyth on Friday. We wish them much happiness. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Shob- brook were dinner guests on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Art Clark, Meneset Park, Goderich, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Shaddick and children of Fergus spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shaddick. Visitors with Mrs. Bert Brunsdon Friday to Tuesday were her brother, Mr. and Mrs, Jack Robertson and their daughter, Mrs. Francis Hender- son of Ottawa. Mrs. Irene Kerr and daughter Judith of London called on her aunf, Mrs. Bert Brunsdon on Monday. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shacidick on their 40th wedding anniversary on September 1.
