Many visit Bayfield over holiday
Following an investigation
involving 52 officers of the On-
tario Provincial Police
Goderich O.F.P. raided a
Bayfield campsite early Sunday
morning arresting seven Kit-
chener men.

MRS. DONALD HERNE
Margaret J. Herne, wife of
Dr. Donald Herne, of 14 Daley
Dr., died Saturday, August 25
at Princess Margaret Hospital
in Toronto after a long illness,
Born in Kindersley, Sask.,
Mrs. Herne had lived in St.
Catharines for 21 years and
had taught public and high
school. For the past eight years
she had been co-ordinator
counsellor with the Lincoln
County ,board of education.
She was a graduate of the
University of Western Ontario
and the Teachers' College of
Stratford, a member of the On-
tario School Teachers'

The men were camped in a
bush area on the outskirts of
the village when the O.P.P. of-

Victoria, B.C. and then took

States, On their return they
had as their guests for several

Prof. A. -Farris, Knox
College, Toronto, was guest
Preacher last Sunday at Knox
Presbyterian Church, and also
served Communion to a
capacity congregation. Mrs.
Farris was guest soloist.
Following the service, the
congregation gathered outside
the church for a potluck lun-
cheon and used the opportunity
to present Michael and Stephen
Farris, their student ministers
for the summer, with farewell
gifts, Michael, who has retur-
ned to college in Toronto will
continue to conduct services at
the Bayfield .Church Sunday
morning at 11:00 a,m, until
Thanksgiving. Stephen is fur-
thering his studies in the
United States.
Alexander Stewart, 21, Douglas
Shell, 23, and William Thaler,
19, have been charged with
"Possession of Offensive
Weapons" as a result of the
raid. Police said a number of
items were seized in connection
with those charges.

Association in St. Catharines.
She is survived by her
husband; three sons, Cameron,
Richard and David, all at
home; her mother, Mrs. Harriet
Henry, in St. Catharines; and a
brother, W. Cameron Henry in
London, Ont.
She rested at the Hulse and
English Funeral Home, St,
Catharines, where service was
held August 29 at 10 a,m.
Burial was in Baird's Cemetery
in Brucefield.
