Belvedere Pacing Stake. The
winner was Teddy Crooks

on the bike. The mile was in
2:06:4 and the payoff was
$74.60, Pierre Harvester owned
by John Smith and driven by
Dennis Jewitt was fourth.
The second race also a

due to a recent Canadian Press
story quoting Judge William
Little, a senior judge of the
York provincial court's family
division, as saying the case is
"an embarrassment to Canada
that need not be repeated."
The CP story quotes Judge
Little saying "To have a judge
tell a 14-year-old boy, 'You are
going to hang by the'neck until
you are dead' doesn't put us
very high in the estimate of the
world."
