1St. Andrew's United Church
hi Bayfield was beautifully
decorated with candelabra ent-
wined with white daisies and
baskets of white 'daisies and
gladiolus for the July 14th wed-
ding of Sharon Rose Keys,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
James Keys of R.R. I, Varna
and William John Carnochan,
son of Mrs. Annie Carnochan,
of 123 James Street in
Seaforth.
Rev. Murdoch Morrison and
Rev. James Reddoch officiated
at the double ring ceremony.
Mrs. Berne McKinley, the
organist, accompanied soloists
Miss Cheryl Peck and Miss
Kerry Lawson.
Mrs. Carol Carter was
organist and Mrs. Ann Woods,
the soloist, sang "Walk Hand
in Hand."
A reception at the Seaforth
Legion Hall followed the
ceremony. Ian Wilbee's or-
chestra played. The bride's
mother received guests wearing
a floor length gown of lilac
flowered polyester crepe and a
corsage of yellow roses. The
groom's mother assisted and
wore a floor-length gown of
blue crepe covered with
flowered sheer material, and a
corsage of pink roses.
Guests were present from
Leamington, London, Blyth,
Goderich, Clinton, Londesboro,
Seaforth, Staffa and Mitchell.
For a wedding trip to Nor-
thern Ontario, the bride wore a
sleeveless empire style dress of
orange peau de soie. Mr. and
Mrs. Colclough will reside at 29
Regina St., Vanastra.
Prior to her wedding, the
bride was honored by showers
given by Helen and Brenda
Colclough in Clinton; Verna
Hesselwood and Brenda
Finlayson in Seaforth; Joan
McDougall in Goderich and

ruffle extending over shoulders
from a natural waist, long
gathered sleeves with bow at
back.

Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a full-
length Victorian-styled white
chiffon gown. Crochet lace
panels accented the square
yoke bodice, the drop
shouldered sleeves, wedding
ring collar and trimmed the
natural waistline. Chiffon ruf-
fles and matching lace trimmed
the bottom of the gown, flowing
into the attached Watteau
train. She wore a white daisy
tiara in her hair and carried a ,a knee-length pale blue dotted Donna O'Connell, niece of

Miss Barbara Graham of
Bayfield and Mrs. Pauline
Nicholson of Goderich. All
were dressed identically in
pastel colors of yellow, mauve,
green and pink.
Groomsman was Gary
Nicholson of Goderich. Ushers
were Doug Dalrymple of
Hanover, Brian Melady of R.R.
3, Lucan, Steve Murray of R.R.
5, Seaforth and David Brady of
Toronto.
Following the wedding, a
reception was held at the
Zurich Community Centre,
which was decorated with
white daisies and gladiolus.
The mother of the bride
chose a floor-length capri blue
gown of chiffon with white ac-
cessories and a corsage of pink
sweetheart roses.
The groom's mother wore a
floor-length mauve and green
floral chiffon gown with white
accessories and a corsage of
pink glamellias.
For a wedding trip to
Europe, the bride changed into

Creed and The Lord's Prayer
Were repeated.
The minutes of the previous
meeting were read and
declared correct. A thank you
card was received from Sharon
Colclough,
It was decided to donate to
the Clinton Community Park
for the use of their picnic
grounds. A discussion on
assisting the purchasing of a
van for residents of Huronview
was held and it was agreed to
donate $25.
Peggy Louise Govier,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Govier of Seaforth, and
Lawrence E, Colclough, son of
Mr. and Mrs. David Colclough,
Clinton were married in a
double ring ceremony by Rev,
Mervin Reuber at Northside
United Church, Seaforth on
August 4 at 7 p.m. The church
was decorated with yellow and
white daisies,
Escorted down the aisle by
her father, the bride wore a
long white polyester crepe dress
with puffed lace sleeves, empire
waist and a long train, She
wore a Juliet cap with a three-
tier shoulder length veil and
carried yellow roses with ivy
and baby's breath on a white
bible,
Elaine McClure, R.R. 2,
Seaforth, friend of the bride,
was maid of honor, and
bridesmaids were Brenda
Colclough, Clinton, sister of the
groom and Ruth Govier,
Seaforth, sister of the bride.
They wore long dresses of
yellow polyester crepe, with
short poffed sleeves, empire
waists, and tops covered with
dotted swiss, and carried white
daisies on white bibles.
O'Connell, nephews of the
bride, were ring bearers.
Robert Morrison, Varna,
friend of the groom, was groom-
sman and ushers were Ken
Colclough, Clinton, brother of
the groom, and Ross Govier,
Seaforth, brother of the bride.
Marion Colclough is to be
hostess for the September
meeting and it shall be held in
the afternoon. On lunch and
program committee are Laura
Forbes, Verna Gibbing and
Margaret Good. Roll call is to
be answered by the name of the
Public School, first teacher's
name, and what has become of
that school,

guessing contest Woh by Sdith

Colclough, Donna Gibbing read
an article called "Bessies
Bail",

OBITUARY
A well-,known Hensa
business man, Harold J. Bon.
thron, passed away suddenly at
his residence in Bayfield on
August 7, 1973 in his 56th year.
Mr. Bonthron was born on
March 14, 191.8, the son of the
late James end Bertha Bon-
thron of Hensel!. He started in
business in 1948 in the fur-
niture store and the funeral
parlour after the death of his
father. In July 1947 he married
the former Doris Sararas, who
survives. Also surviving are
two sons, Bryan of London and
Bevan of Hensall; two
daughters, Janice and Shelley
at home, one sister Mrs. Jean
Greer of London.
Mr, Bonthron was a Charter
member of the Hensall Kin-
smen Club, a 25 year member

Rodeo
Sunday
The annual Dungannon
Horse Show and Rodeo spon-
sored by the Huron Trail-
Riders Saddle Club will be
held this Sunday, August 19 at
the Dungannon Fairgrounds.
Also competing in the day
long meet will be clubs from
Walkerton, Arthur and
Listowel. Over 40 horses and
riders are expected to take part,
Some of the activities taking
place are parade class judging,
senior western pleasure, senior
flag race, junior and senior
barrel races, pole bending,
junior apple racing, wild steer
riding and many other exciting
and fun-filled activities.
A lunch and refreshment
booth will be located on the
grounds. Judge of the events
will be Ronald Schwartz of
Clandeboye. All of the timed
events will be handled elec-
tronically.
Bob Meyer from Teeswater
will be providing commentary
on the events. Trophies, prizes
and caWwill ,be ,gimen„„to„the,
winners of the various events,
of the Hensall Legion, a mem-
ber of the Oddfellows Lodge
and the Shrine, and an Elder of
Carmel Presbyterian Church.
He was a lifelong resident of
Hensall until November 1972
when he and his family moved
to Bayfielti.
The late Mr, Bonthron rested
at the Bonthron Funeral
Chapel when a private funeral
service was hetd.on August 10,
1973, with Rev. George Vais
and Rev. W. Jarvis officiating.
Interment in Exeter cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ken Cooke,
Bob Drysdale, Jack Drysdale,
Bill Easton, Lorne Hay and
Van Laughton.
PERSONALS
Tony Kyle has returned from
a trip to the Unitd Nations, He
was the winner of a free trip to
the United Nations sponsored
by the Amber Rebekah and Ocl-
dfellows Lodges of the Huron
District. A letter of thanks was
received from Tony in ap-
preciation for having had the
honor of the opportunity to
take this very worthwhile trip.
At the Sunday morning Wor-
ship service in Hensel! United
Church, Rev. Don Beck
preached on the sermon topic
"I believe; Help my unbelief".
Sam Rennie was the guest
soloist. The flowers in the
Church were from the funeral
of the late Harold Bonthron.
