Mrs, Weeks was born in North Dakota, the second daughter of Robert and Jane Scotchmer, formerly of Stanley Township. She taught school for a time near Brucefield, also at Orillia and Peterboro, later going to Alberta, where she taught school near Barrhead. She was married at Barrhead in 1930 to Wm. H. Weeks and the couple farmed there until 1939, when they returned to Ontario and purchased a farm on Highway 8 near Clinton, Upon retirement, they settled in Hensall, where Mr. Weeks predeceased her in 1969. A son, Robert of St. Marys and a daughter Joyce, Mrs. Jack Lavender of Hensall, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren remain to mourn the loss of a loving mother and grandmother and great-grand- mother. There also remain three sisters, Florence (Mrs. Albert Dunn) of Bayfield; Mrs. Dorothy McKenzie of Goderich Township; Mabel Scotchmer of Toronto and stepmother. Mrs. Margaret Scotchmer of Bayfield. A brother Lloyd 'of Bayfield predeceased here in 1969 r...and anothek brother Harold resides in Winnipeg. Mrs. Weeks passing will be.ti sad loss not only to her im- mediate family, but to a ,wide circle of friends in many places. She was a great lover of flowers and her garden was always a pleasure to see. She was a member of the Hensall United Church. The funeral was conducted from the Bonthron Funeral Home on Monday July 30, 1973 with Rev. Don Beck officiating. Personals Mr. and Mrs, Glen Carter and Colleen attended a very impressive 'Blue Band ceremony' at the Perth-Huron Regional School of Nursing, Stratford on Friday, July 27, 1973 at which time their daughter Cathy received her 'Blue Band'. This ceremony marks the successful conclusion of the first year of the two-year nurses' training course. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lear, Danny and David returned home on Tuesday, July 24th from a three , week holiday touring British Columbia. They also attended the Calgary Stampede. Miss Edythe Beacom, Mrs. Laura Lyon and Mrs, Mary Beacom attended, the 80th bir- thday party for Miss Ella Pear- son ) of Brussels N rsing Home which was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ral h Pearson on Wednesday July 25th. Mr. and rs. Norman Alexander returned home on Monday, dilly 23rd from a three week vacation visiting their daughter Mr. and Mrs. Don Cousineau, Donald and Jim at Sault Ste. Marie and a visit to the Manitoulin Island. Miss Alice Arbuckle of Toronto is spending a week with her cousin, Mrs. Jessie Jones. They spent Saturday in London and at Mr, and Mrs. Ken Moore's, Egmondville, returning home on Sunday. Visitors with Mr, and Mrs. Allen Shaddick were her sister, Mrs. Art Ferguson, London over the weekend. Her mother, Mrs. Walkom of Munro is spen- ding the week with her. Miss Lloy Shaddick spent the weekend at the home of her parents. Rev. Darren Millson celebrated his 7th birthday with a party at his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. Shobbrook on Tuesday. Present were Diana Shobbrook, Frank and Dora Lynn Ellerby, Valerie and Billy Millson, Laurel, Lisa and Stephen Duizer. Mrs, Ena Howatt, Mr, and Mrs. Gordon Howatt and boys, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Howatt and family attended the Gardiner family picnic at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ross, St. Marys. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Shob- brook visited on Sunday with her niece, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Latour and boys at Drysdale. Mr. and Mrs, Lorne flunking, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Duizer, Laurel, Lisa, Stephen, Shannon and Mr. and Mrs. Art Flunking and Todd of Exeter had a family picnic at Story Book Gardens, London on Sun- day. Mrs. Kathy Tulles of Win- nipeg is spending a few weeks visiting her sister, Mr, and Mrs. Warner Collings and Barbara. The W.I. meeting will be held on August 8th at 8p.m. when they will entertain the grandmothers and the Cheerio Club. Mrs. Ena Howatt spent Thursday and Friday last week in Grand Bend with her daughter, Mrs. Mac Hodgert. Mr. Will Govier spent last week with his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Hann and girls at Waterloo. We are pleased to see Mrs. Skrimmons back to her home here. The July meeting of the A.C.W. of St. Paul's Anglican Church was held on the Church lawn, Games and contests were enjoyed by all. A short , meeting followed with the president, Mrs. G. A. Anderson, presiding. A motion was made to send the collection of pennies for this year to the Women's Inter-Church Council for the Fellowship of the Least Coin. The auction sale which will be held in conjunction with Trivitt Memorial on September 12 was discussed. Donations of used and unused articles would be much appreciated. A notice to this effect will be advertised in the near future. Rev, G. A. Anderson closed the meeting with prayer, after which all sat down to a boun- tiful lunch.
