The death occurred on Satur-
day morning, July 28 in South
Huron Hospital, Exeter, of
Mrs. Edna Weeks of Hensall,
formerly of Clinton.
Mrs, Weeks was born in
North Dakota, the second
daughter of Robert and Jane
Scotchmer, formerly of Stanley
Township. She taught school
for a time near Brucefield, also
at Orillia and Peterboro, later
going to Alberta, where she
taught school near Barrhead.
She was married at Barrhead
in 1930 to Wm. H. Weeks and
the couple farmed there until
1939, when they returned to
Ontario and purchased a farm
on Highway 8 near Clinton,
Upon retirement, they settled
in Hensall, where Mr. Weeks
predeceased her in 1969.
A son, Robert of St. Marys
and a daughter Joyce, Mrs.
Jack Lavender of Hensall, eight
grandchildren and three great
grandchildren remain to mourn
the loss of a loving mother and
grandmother and great-grand-
mother. There also remain
three sisters, Florence (Mrs.
Albert Dunn) of Bayfield; Mrs.
Dorothy McKenzie of Goderich
Township; Mabel Scotchmer of
Toronto and stepmother. Mrs.
Margaret Scotchmer of
Bayfield. A brother Lloyd 'of
Bayfield predeceased here in
1969 r...and anothek brother
Harold resides in Winnipeg.
Mrs. Weeks passing will be.ti
sad loss not only to her im-
mediate family, but to a ,wide
circle of friends in many places.
She was a great lover of flowers
and her garden was always a
pleasure to see. She was a
member of the Hensall United
Church.
The funeral was conducted
from the Bonthron Funeral
Home on Monday July 30, 1973
with Rev. Don Beck officiating.
Interment was in Bayfield

Mr. and Mrs, Glen Carter
and Colleen attended a very
impressive 'Blue Band
ceremony' at the Perth-Huron
Regional School of Nursing,
Stratford on Friday, July 27,
1973 at which time their
daughter Cathy received her
'Blue Band'. This ceremony
marks the successful conclusion
of the first year of the two-year
nurses' training course.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lear,
Danny and David returned
home on Tuesday, July 24th
from a three , week holiday
touring British Columbia. They
also attended the Calgary
Stampede.

returning home on Sunday.

Allen Shaddick were her sister,
Mrs. Art Ferguson, London
over the weekend. Her mother,

weeks in Vancouver where he

A.C.W. summer meeting....
The July meeting of the
A.C.W. of St. Paul's Anglican
Church was held on the Church
lawn, Games and contests were
enjoyed by all.
A short , meeting followed
with the president, Mrs. G. A.
Anderson, presiding. A motion
was made to send the collection
of pennies for this year to the
Women's Inter-Church Council
for the Fellowship of the Least
Coin. The auction sale which
will be held in conjunction with
Trivitt Memorial on September
12 was discussed. Donations of
used and unused articles would
be much appreciated. A notice
to this effect will be advertised
in the near future.
Rev, G. A. Anderson closed
the meeting with prayer, after
which all sat down to a boun-
tiful lunch.
