vice was held at the United
,Church last Sunday morning.
Greeting into the sanctuary

Organist was Louise Lovett.
The Sunday School staff and
students entered as a body to
reserved seats, Dennis Pen-
found, superintendent, read the
scripture and led in thb unison
prayer. Susan Jameison played
a piano solo and the Snell
sisters, Janie and Joanne, sang
a 'duet "Never fear the
Shadows" Rev. McDonald's
sermon was "Goliath".

The church was decorated by
the Sunday School teachers,
and the flowers at the front of
the church were placed by Mr.
and Mrs. Jim Scott Jr. in
honour of the marriage of their
daughter Donelda Judith to
John David Dixon in the
church Friday evening.
Following the sermon, Rev.
McDonald read the poem
"People who are young",
followed by promotion of the
Sunday school students and
they were welcomed by their
new teachers. The Sunday
School will recess and re-open
August 19 for the Fall Session.
Next Sunday, July 15, an
open air church service and
congregational picnic will be
held at 10:30 a.m. at Lion's
Park Seaforth with Rev. C.
Heckendorn of Kitchener, a for-
mer minister of this charge, as
guest minister. Please bring
lawn chairs, dishes and eats for
your own family, drinks will be
supplied.
GRADUATION
Mr. and Mrs. Jim McEwan,
Londesboro„ Mrs. George Mar-
shall of RR 1 Blyth, and Mrs.
Archie Watt of Goderich atten-
ded the graduation of their
daughter Kathleen from Perth-
Huron Regional school of nur-
sing Stratford. Kathleen won
the St. Marys Graduate nurses
award for proficiency in bed-
side nursing.

Sympathy is extended to Mr.
and Mrs. J.B. Taylor in the loss
of his brother Harold in
Toronto.
Mrs. John Riley returned
home on Saturday from Clin-
ton Hospital where she had
surgery on her foot on Wed-
nesday.

sillectomy in Clinton Hospital
on Tuesday, July 3.
The Hope Chapel cemetery
committee met at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hunking
on Monday evening and plan-
ned a Decoration service on

The funeral service was held on
Tuesday, July 10 at 2 p.m. from the
Ball Funeral Home. Interment in
Clinton Cemetery.
BUCHANAN: At Huronview, Clin-
ton, Monday, July 9, 1973, Jennie E.
Buchanan, of Hensall in her 80th
year. Surviving are two brothers,
Alfred, of Clinton and Willard, of
Hensall. Also several nieces and
nephews. The body rested at the
Bonthron Funeral Chapel, Hensall.
