magnifying glass. Jimmy
spotted it lying on the
sidewalk. But when he looked
through it, things disap-
peared. A stone, a button, a
ladybug, even Jimmy's
finger. He didn't know what to
do until he tried turning the
lens around, That way,
everything he looked at got
bigger. He fixed his finger and
turned a penny into a dinner-
plate. He made giant birds
and butterflies and tiny trees.
Then, on his front porch, Jim-
my's cat Boswell hissed at
him, Jimmy decided tp.shrink
Boswell down and teach him a
lesson. But he looked thfough

out shopping. What if Boswell
ate her? She laughed when
Jimmy tried to warn her. So
he slipped out and found the

down - oopsl too far! Where
was Boswell? Jimmy. played
with the lens some more. But
then he looked through the
lens into the mirror. And as he
watched, the lens got smaller
and vanished. His mother
never believed him. But each

for Boswell, and it disap-
