Control Act charges in the past
week.
The Goderich Detachment of
the Ontario Provincial Police
reported that they charged 16
persons last week with having
liquor in a place other than
their residence. One of those
charged was caught after a high
speed chase and also charged
with dangerous driving.
The OPP report that among
the eight theft cases handled
last week, reported stolen were
a flag with flag pole attached,
two trucks gasoline, firewood,
harrows, and a stolen car radio.
Police also investigated • an
accident on Saturday near Salt-

It is graduation time again
and we congratulate all those
who have been successful,
The Hon. Patti Martin, chan-
cellor of Waterloo Lutheran
University and government
leader in the Canadian senate,
presided Sunday as nearly 800
students received degrees in
arts, science, theology, business
and economics, social work and
music at Waterloo Lutheran
University.
The colorful ceremony,
featuring music by the military
band of the 48th Highlanders
of Canada was held at the Kit-
chener Memorial Auditorium,
Prior to convocation, a bac-
calaureate service for
graduates, their families and
friends was conducted on cam-
pus.
Among those receiving their
General BA degree were:
Cameron Addison, James
Cooper and Jon Ginn, all of
Clinton; Donna Forrest, Hen-
sail; Patricia Garrett, Bayfield;
Kenneth Scott, Blyth, and John
Hartley, Exeter.

Elsewhere in the paper are
several graduation pictures of
boys who have completed cour-
ses at Ridgetown Agricultural
College. Two more from the
area who were successful are
Ronald James Chalmers, Kip-
pen and William Wayne Munn,
Hensall. We also note that
William Collins of Clinton
completed his junior year in
Agricultural Production and
Management Course at the
same college.

Mr. and Mrs, Charles Nelson
attended the Convocation of
Waterloo Lutheran University
on May 20 when the farmer's
call was answered by "My first
school teacher." The president
Mrs. W.,LF, Bell gave a
Mother's Day Poem and con,
ducted the business.
Arrangements were made for
the Strawberry Supper June 13
from 5-7 p,m. for a bale of clean
used clothing to be sent to the
Rescue Mission and packed
May 26; for the quepnsway
Bazaar and tea May 30; and
for a change in date of the next
meeting which will be held at
the home of Mrs, Emerson Kyle
on June 5, Courtesy Remarks
were given by Mrs. Edison
McLean, Meeting closed with
Mizpah Benediction. Unit 3
served lunch.

The bomb was found in the
playground at the school by
children and turned over im-
mediately to Clinton police.
Although the grenade was not
fused, experts didn't know
whether or not it contained ex-
plosives.
