musical production "Music Through the Ages" which was presented at the church to an en-

Unit IV of Hensall
met on Thursday afternoon at
the Church with 21 members
present,
Mrs. James McAllister,
leader opened the meeting with
a verse from 11 Corinthians,
Chapter 13, "Examine your-
selves to see if you are holding
the faith. Self examination is
necessary, she• said and she
closed with prayer. Mrs. George
Armstrong gave the devotional
on Spring and Easter when the
greatest event of the Christian
Church takes place. Mrs.
Russell Erratt read the Scrip-
ture from Luke and Matthew
on the Crucifixion and the
Resurrection. Mrs. Harry Cald-
well gave the study on
education in India. Mrs.
McAllister read a letter from
Jesus Ashram in India, written
by Brother Bob and Mrs. Rowe
reported for the Queensway
Nursing Home. The offering
was taken by Mrs. Harburn
and Mrs. Ferguson. Mrs. E.
Chipcase and her committee
served lunch.
REBEKAH DESSERT EUCHRE
A very good crowd was in at-
tendance at the Rebekah Lodge
Dessert Euchre held in the
Lodge rooms last Wednesday
afternoon, with 13 tables in
play the winners were: high
winner on the pink cards, Mrs.
Mel Lamport, Exeter; high
winner on the green cards, Mrs.
R.A. Orr; most lone hands,
Mrs. Annie Morena, Dashwood;
low games, Mrs. Idle, Exeter.
A draw on a bunny shaped
cake donated by Mrs. Hazel
Corbett was won by Mrs. Pearl
Taylor, Chilselhurst and a
quart of maple syrup donated
by Mrs. Irene Blackwell was
won by Mrs. Ray Cottle of
Exeter.
PERSONAL
Mr. and Mrs. John Konynen-
dyk, Woodstock; Ad VanDiel,
Toronto; Peter Van . Diel,
Goderich; and Tony
Gelderland, Ridgetown visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Sim Roobal
last week.
LEGION AUXILIARY
The April meeting of the
Hensall Legion. Ladies'
Auxiliary was held in the
Legion Hall Tuesday evening
with president Mrs. Mildred
Chalmers presiding.
Members accepted an in-
vitation to attend a birthday
party at Seaforth Legion
Auxiliary on it 17. It was an-
nounced that the Easter Basket
draw would be held on April
21, with the proceeds to g)
towards the Crippled Childrens
Treatment Centre in London.
Vera Smale won the guessing
prize and also the mystery
prize.
UNIT II THANKOFFERING
Unit II of Hensall U.C.W.
met Monday evening at the
Church for their Easter
Thankoffering meeting. Mrs.
Joyce Pepper acted as
Chairlady and welcomed
everyone and opened with a
poem entitled "No time for
God". Mrs. Lorna Chapman
gave an inspiring devotional on
Easter, with Mrs. Sadie Hoy
reading scripture from Mark,
The roll call answered with
twelve members was a verse
with the word "Joyful" in it.
A card of thanks was read
from Mrs. Jelene Keys. Mrs.
Kay Mock conducted the
business portion of the meeting
which included the general
meeting on May 7, Unit II are
responsible for flowers in the
Church for May and are also to
go to Queensway Nursing
Home in May. It was announ-
ced that there will be an Open
House at the Queensway Nur-
sing Home on May 30 from 2 to
4, and ladies are asked to bring
baking it was also suggested
that members visit the nursing
home in the summer months
especially July 9 and August 6,
The study on India was very
capably taken by Mrs. Jean
Wareing who read an article
from the Life Magazine written
by Peter White on "Life in
Calcutta" and also an, article
from the March Readers Digest
on Mother Tereasa and her
work in India and other coun-
tries,
The meeting closed and
Hostesses Kay Mock and Hilda
Payne served a delicious lunch.
AMBER REBEKAH LODGE
The regular meeting of the
Amber Rebekah Lodge was
held Wednesday evening in the
Lodge rooms with N. G. Mrs.
Irene Blackwell presiding and
being assisted by V.G. Mrs.
Aldeen Volland.
Mrs. Volland reported that a
number of cards and treats had
been sent to the sick and shut-
in members. Plans were made
in preparation for the official
spring visit of the D.D.P. Mrs.
Margaret Sharp to the Lodge
on April 18. The members were
reminded of the District
meeting which will he held the
afternoon of April 18, at
Seaforth Lodge rooms. All past
Grands of the Lodge are invited
to attend.
Mrs. Olga Chipchase repor-
ted on having attended the
speak-off held in Clinton recen-
tly when a Hensall boy, Tony
Kyle was the lucky winner of a
trip to the United Nations in
June. It was decided that Mrs.
Bertha MacGregor• and Mrs.
Olga Chipchase would attend
the Grand Lodge sessions in
Toronto in June. Final plans
were made to attend the 25th
Birthday party of Monkton
Star Lodge to be held in At-
wood Community Centre on
April 27. Quite a number of
members plan to attend this
event.
A request was received in
regards to helping finance a bus
for theg Huronview residents,
this was set aside for another
meeting for further discussion.
It was reported that the
Dessert Euchre held last Wed-
nesday afternoon was a real
success,
LADIES ATTEND BELGRAVE
An Easter Thank Offering
meeting was held in Belgrave
Presbyterian Church last Wed-
nesday with Mrs. Robert Cam-
pbell of Wingham as the guest
speaker.
Those attending from Hen-
sail Carmel Presbyterian
Church were Mrs. Elizabeth
Faber, Mrs. Myrtle Dick, Mrs.
Malcolm Dougall and Mrs.
Rachel Schwalm.
