St. Joseph's
Pancake Tuesday this year
was celebrated with a pancake
party by the students and staff
of St. Joseph's separate School,
in Clinton.
Some students from Grade
seven and eight began
preparations Tuesday morning
by mixing the batter and
pouring the syrup. Then the
teachers were put to work at
noon. Mrs. Mary Smith, Mrs.
Marg Barkley, Mrs. Frances
Craig and Miss Monica
McCurdy were kept busy frying•
pancakes for approximately 100
hungry children.
Everyone had a good taste of
the delicious treats, well
soaked in maple syrup. Clean'
up was handled by the
generous grade seven and
eights. Again a fact which the
teachers really appreciated.
After lunch, each class spent
some time in a language arts
activity, composing jingles.

President Harold Lobb was
in the chair to open the meeting
of the Huron Central
Agricultural Society on March
8.
There was a lengthy
discussion on all the fair
classes, such as the naming of
judges and adding and taking
from some classes.
Other business revealed that
the Kinsmen Club would rent
the barns and pay the rent
twice yearly and that the grant
to the Society from Clinton
Council is still not definite.
The Society will' sponsor the
4-H Senior Dairy Club.
It was suggested that the en-
tertainment program he in-
cluded in the prize list book
and that there be a Unison
Hitch added to the horse class.
