Team effort was the key
phrase on Saturday as Team
Huron launched a successful
bottle drive. About 35 members
of the group took part in the
drive which covered Exeter,
Clinton, Huron Park, Vanastra
and surrounding communities.
It was one of the most suc-
cessful bottle drives ever
organized in the Huron County
area, members claim.
The group not only collected
returnable bottles but also
collected non-returnables as an
effort to help curb the environ-
mental pollution that broken
glass causes.
Co-ordinators for the project,
Gord Pryde, Hensall; Peter
Kleinstiver, Dashwood; and
Bill Cummings Clinton, Teel the
response from the areas
covered was excellent and feel
it shows a genuine interest in
ecology on the part of the com-
munity.
A substantial part of the"
money raised will go to the Boy
Scout and. Cub Scoot units in

by Mike Stephens
I'm going to devote this column today strictly, for announ-
cing programs during Spring break.
On Monday afternoon, all boys under the age of 16 may
bring their 'skates, stick and puck and play "shinny" hockey.
That is, just skate round shooting the puck, stick handling or
whatever. There is no organized game. They just come for
the practice. The admission will be 25 cents for the time of
2-4:30. p,m.
On Tuesday we will, of course, still have noon skating.
We will also have skating for public school children, grades
1-4 from 2-4:30 p.m.
Then Wednesday we will have an all-day hike for boys
ages 11-13, The hike will start at 8 a.m. and the boys will be
back at about 3 p.m. We'll take the first 25 boys who are
here. They will need to dress appropriately for the day and
will need to bring their own lunch, If the weather is too bad
then it will be on Thursday instead, There will be regular
public skating on Wednesday afternoon.
On Thursday there will be skating for girls only from 2-
4:30. The admission for this will be 25 cents. No boys will
be allowed.
On Friday, there will be skating for the school children,
grades 5-8. Then in the evening will begin our girls' hockey
tournament. There will be more on this in next week's
newspaper.
