In twelve lactation on twice- a-day milking, she produced 205,108 lbs. milk containing 8,067 lbs. fat, average test 3.95 percent butterfat. In her latest lactation as a fourteen-year' old, in 305 days on twice.a-day milking, she produced 14,667 lbs. milk containing 562 lbs. fat, average test 3.83 percent butterfat. This record has a Breed Class Average of 142 percent for milk and 148 Per- cent for fat. By DON PUt.L.EN Huron County Agricultural Representative Recent Statistics Canada reports indicate that Huron has the most improved farm land and the largest inventory value of livestock and poultry of any county in Ontario. - Huron is first in production of white beans, barley, silage corn; second in total cattle and marketings; third in forage crops rind total hogs. In the last decade, barley acreage has increased from 6,509 acres to 45,700 acres (700% ); grain corn 10,028 acres to 79,446 acres (790% ); silage corn 18,004 acres to 40,030 acres (270% ); white beans 21,359 acres to 44,000 acres. (250% ), In the same period, oats have declined from 68,143 acres down to 14,668 acres (decrease 450% ). Acreages of hay and pasture crops have declined in favor of barley, white beans and corn. The 1972 crop season will long be remembered by residents of the area.
