anadian Legion public
peaking contest last Thursday.
Top prize in the junior
ivision went to Jane Allan, 11
f R.R..1., 13rucefield, a student
Huron Centennial Public
chool.
The contest, sponsored by
Branch 156, attracted 16 con-
testants from four public
schools.
The winners will advance to
the Zone C-1 finals in Ripley on
March 3.
Patti O'Rourke, 12 of R.R. 4,
Seaforth, was runner-tip in the
senior division and Robert
Thompson, 10 of R,R. 2,
Seaforth, finished second in the
junior division.
Action was fast and skillful at the Fifth Annual Public. School
Volleyball Tournament held in the Recreation Centre which
was donated by Vanastra Developments. Here Brucefield
Public returns a serve by Seaforth. Hullett Central swept

bowled the highest single this
season at the Crown Lanes
when she rolled a 360 in the
Molson's Crown Mixed League
last week. It was nearly a per-
fect night for Mrs. Harris as she
also got the high triple of 727
and the high average of 213. r4
The Goldens currently lead
the league with 95 points with
only one week left to go in
regular season play. Crown
Jewels are second with 92
points and are closely followed
by Hi-Jinks with 90. Zip Cats
follow with 83; Six Pack, 61.;
Dot's Spots; Canadians, 46 and
Half and Half, 42. Bruce
Collins swept all the men's
honors with the high single of
314, the high triple of 784 and
the high average of 218.
Greg Burns continues to
dominate Bill's Men's League
with the high single of 324.
Peter Black had the high triple
of 773. The Godfathers lead the
Leage with 44 points and are
followed by the Colts and the
Unpredictables with 2:3 and the
Out of Towners trail with 7
points.
There is still a tight race for
top spot in the Crown Y.B.C.
Junior League with Steve's
Strikers leading the way with
79 points followed closely by

League, Sea Monkeys have a
slight edge with 44 points,
followed by the Road Runners
with 42; Laughing Hyenas, 33;
North Stars and The Pacers, 32
and the Hot Shots are pulling
up the rear with 27, Meryl
Thomas had the ladies' high
single of 279, Trudy Hill had
the high triple of 671 and Mary
Davey had the high average of
207,
In the Londesboro Men's
League Meeks lead the way
with 89 points, followed by
Renworths 71, Whites 68
and Auto Cars 66. The high
single went to Keith Allen with
a 312. Glen Carter took the
high triple with a 761, and Cliff
Saundercock had the overall
high average With a 218.
The Tuckersmith Mitred
League is led by Seldy's
Sumacs with 98 points. In
second place with an 84 is
Cliff's Chestnuts. Bob's Bir-
ches follow with a 64, Wally's
Willows with a 63, Ed's elms
with a 58 and finally Joost's
Junipers with a 54. The ladies'
high single and high triple was
Hilda Veenstra with a 269 and
686. Chris Eskerod had the
high men's single and high
triple with 250 and 691.
In the Ladies Afternoon
League, the Giddy-up-go team
is in first place with 68 points
followed by the Alley Cats with
52. Third and fourth places are
held by the Mad Caps with 51
and the Afternoon Flyers with

singles were Carol Dale with a
221 for the girls and Bev
Bromley with a 220 for the
boys. Deb Johnston took the
high triple with a 531 for the
girls and Brian Atkinson was
the high triple for the boys with
a 626.
In Bill's Mixed League Team
2 is the first place team with a
total of 85 points, Team 3 has
79 followed by Team 4 with a
72 and Team 1 with 58. Edna
Elliott won both the ladies high
single and high triple with
scores of 261 and 571. Sheila
Keys held the high average
with a 178. For the men, Howie
Grealis won both the high
single and the high triple with
a 327 and a 704, The men's
high average was held by Don
Switzer who had a 222.
Heidelburgs have ac-
cumulated a total of 57 points
to take first place in the Wil-
Dex League followed by
Molson Brewers with a 39, the
Red Caps with 38 and October-
fest with 37. In the ladies
division, Jay Carter won both
the high single and the high
triple with 194 and 492. John
Hoy took the men's high single
with a 272 and Fred Basler
won the men's high triple with

In the Londesboro Ladies
League, the Jump-N-keens
were the first place team with
101 points, In second place was
the Jelly Begins with an 83
