ted at the Provincial finals of
the Youth Bowling Council to
be held March 10 and 11 in
Scarborough after the senior
boy's team and the senior girl's
single from the Clinton Crown
Lanes were victorious in the
Zone finals held last weekend
in Hanover,
The senior boy's team con-
sisting of Jim Switzer, Bob
Atkinson, Rob Brown, Bev
Bromley, and Bob Falconer
beat three other teams from
Zone 'T' in Hanover and will
represent this zone in the third
step of the "Four Steps to Star-
dom" sponsored by the YBC.
Debbie Johnson of Clinton
was also victorious and will be
this zone's senior girl single at
the provincials, She defeated
three other girls with her 640
triple. The senior boy's team
eclipsed second place
Collingwood by 383 pins.
Should they win in the
provincials next month, they
would be eligible for' the
national championship to be
held in Saskatoon in April.
The junior boy's team from
Clinton nearly made it to the
provincials with their second
place finish at Owen Sound on
February 18 and Clinton's
John Hart was third in the
Bantams boy's single at
Collingwood February 11.
In other bowling action down
at the lanes, Gerry Harris had
an outstanding week in the
Ladies'Afternoon League at the
Crown Lanes. She bowled the
high single of 321, had a fan-
tastic triple of 877 and has the
high average of 217. Giddy-Up-
Go lead the league with 61
points, followed by Alley Cats
with 49; Mad Caps, 46; and Af-
ternoon Flyers, 40.
Cliff Saundercock also had a
good week as he completely
dominated the Londesboro
Men's League with the high
single of 327, the high triple of
774 and the high average of
218. Macks lead the league
with 84 points, followed by
Kenworths with 69, Auto Cars
with 64 and Whites with 63.
The Godfathers continue to
dominate Bill's Men's League
with a 37 point collection.
They are followed by the Colts
with 23, the Unpredictables
with 16 and the Out of Towners
with 7. Greg Burns is as hot on
the lanes as he is on the ice as
he had the high single of 324.
Bob Saundercock had the high
triple of 738.
Seldy'ss Sumacs continue to
outdistance their rivals in the
Tuckersmith Mixed League
with 92 points compared with
Cliff's Chesnuts with 79;
Wally's Willows, 63; Bob Bir-
ches, 62; Joost's Junipers, 53;
and Ed's Elms, 51. Helen Pep-
per had both the ladies' high
single of 294 and the high triple
of 664, while John Hayman had
both the men's high single of
298 and the high triple of 733.
In the Londesboro Ladies'
League, Jump-N-Beens lead the
way with 101 points, trailed by
Mixed Beens and Jelly Beans
with 76 and In-B-Tweens with
41, Brenda Radford had both
the ladies' high single of 245
and the high triple of 597,
while Nancy Roy has the high
average of 201,
Labatt's Blues continue to
dominate the Crown Teen
League with 89 points, followed
by Les Etoiles Manifiques with
71; Coconut's Crew, 67; Deep
Purple, 60 and the Bloomers,
54. Debbie Johnston had both
the girl's high single of 223 and
the high triple of 605, Bob
Atkinson had the boy's high
single of 261 while Bob
Falconer had the high triple of
631.
In Bill's Mixed League Team
Two lead the way with 80
points, followed closely by
Team Three with 77, Team
Four with 67 and Team One
with 56. Barb VanDamme had
the ladies' high single of 246,
Barb Switzer had the high
triple of 566 and Sheila Keys
had the high average of 179.
Don Switzer swept all the
men's honors with the high
single of 269, the high triple of
621 and the high average of
224.
Alley Dusters are showing
the way in the Bayfield
Bowling League with 98 points,
followed by the Alley Rats with
90, the Bull Shooters with 89
and the Cock-A-Dodle Dos with
85. Mary Mair had the ladies'
high single of 232, while
Madelon Mclllwain had the
high triple of 594. Bill Talbot
had both the men's high single
of 244 and the high triple of
623.
In the Wil-Dex League, the
Heidelburgs lead the way with
55 points, followed by Molson
Brewers and Octoberfest with
36 and Red Caps with 34. Ann
Newington had the ladies' high
single of 221 and Linda Dixon
had the high triple of 524. Jeff
Dixon had both the men's high
single of 237 and the high triple
of 557.
In the Clinton Crown YBC
League, Steve's Strikers have
the top spot with 75 points,
followed by the Strike Outs
with 70; Alley Dusters, 68;
Kelly's Heroes 64; Tornadoes,
58; Wipe Outs and Wildcats, 57
and Crown Royals, 55. Cathy
Anstett had the girl's high
'single of 209, while Gale Cun-
ningham had the high double
of 352." Steve Gibbingi had
both the boy's high single of
254 and the high double of 444.
' Sea Monkeys are showing the
way in the Clinton-Blyth
Ladies' League with 38 points,
followed by the Road Runners
with 35; Laughing Hyenas, 29;
The Pacers, 28; North Stars, 26
and the Hot Shots, 24. Edna
Atkinson and Joyce Taylor
shared the ladies' high single
with 274 while Joyce captured
the high triple with a 657.
Mary Davey had the high
average with a 208.
Summerhill plans
another card party
Hundreds enjoyed Hospitality Night last Wednesday night
(Feb. 14) at the Clinton Community Centre. Different en-
tertainers and groups' led the Recreation Committee spon-

the meeting of the Afternoon
Unit of Ontario Street U.C.W.
on Tuesday, February 6th. Af-
ter singing a hymn Mrs. Nor-
man Trewartha read some very
interesting and instructive
papers from the study pack on
"The Indian Christian church
to-day"
Mrs. John McCowan read
the lesson from the Bible and
Mrs, McConnell and- Mrs. Roy
Connell gave devotional
readings. Before the worship
service closed with prayer, a
minute's silence was observed
in memory of a deceased mem-
ber, Mrs. Melvin Webster.
Mrs. Norman Trewartha
presided for the business part
of the meeting. Huron-Perth

Hazel Watkins'home was the
setting for the February
meeting of the Summerhill
Ladies Club. Isabell Steward
opened the meeting with an ap-
propriate reading entitled "Let
Me Call You Sweetheart" The
Creed and the LordS Prayer
were said in unison and the
visitors were welcomed.
Nineteen members answered
roll call by reading a Valentine
Verse.
The minutes of the previous
meeting were read by Sandra
Westerhout with Ada Wright
moving the adoption of the
report and Marg Wright as
seconder,
Suzanne Vodden read the
treasurer'S report and suggested
we do something that will
make money.
Cards of thanks were
received from Mrs. Lovett,
Lloyd Steward and Bill
Giblings.
There is another card party
being put on by the Hall Board;
everyone is urged to attend. It
is being held on Friday, 23 of
February.
The March meeting shall be
held at the home of Sandra
Westerhout? on lunch and
program are: Phillis Tyndall,
Gladys Van Egmond and
Marion Snell.
A motion was made by Vera
Gibbing and second 'by Mrs.
Ellis to donate $10 to the
Ability Fund March of
Dimes.

bring something to auction off,

Louise Lovett. These were en-
joyed very much.
The joint Thankoffering
meeting is to be held in Ontario
Street Church on April 8th, the
special speaker being Mrs.
Anna Rokeby-Thomas of Kit-
chener.
The next meeting will be on
March 6th when Rev. E.E. New
of Monkton, a former
missionary in India, will speak
of his experiences there.
