The Crown Y.B.C. Leagues
held their annual Family
Twosome Tournament on
Thursday and Friday evenings
and 62 members of the League
invited a member of their
family to participate in the
event. Winners are: Bantam,
girl, Debbie Cook, boy, Ian
Fleming; Junior, girl, Marilyn
Mair, boy, Richard Carter;
Senior, girl, Debbie Johnston,
boy, Bev. Bromley.
The parents displayed their
bowling skill and some of the
high games bowled were: Joe
Murphy, 265; Kaye Harris;
245; Marie MacAuley, 243; and
Pat Newington, 221. High
singles by members include the
girls high single of 310 by Deb-
bie Johnston and a 254 by Bev
Bromley in the boy's division.
In the Molson's Crown
Mixed League, Crown Jewels
are still up front with 61 points
followed by The Goldens, 56;
Zip Cats, 55; Hi-Jinx, 52; Six
Pack, 44; Dot's Spots, 38; Half
and Half, 32; and Canadians,
26. Elizabeth Collins had the
ladies' high single of 273 while
Gerry Harris had the high
triple of 677 and the high
average of 207, Bill Harris and
John Meade tied with the
men's high single with 266,
while Willis Bromley had the
high triple of 668, Bruce
Collins still has the high
average of 215.
Labatt's Blue still lead the
Crown Teen League with 53
points followed by Les Etoiles
Manifques, 48, Coconut's Crew,
43; Bloomers, 40; Deep Purple,
31; and Farkie Family, 4.

high single of 269 and the high

According to the regulation
made under the Public Health
Act respecting Food Premises,
food premises includes any
place where food or drink for
human consumption is
manufactured, processed,
prepared or handled, or sold or
offered for sale.
Within the next four to six
weeks, some of the food
premises in Huron County will
be getting a new look from the
staff Public Health Inspectors
of the Health Unit, Peter Ooi
and Joe Balder:), says J. K.
McCaul, C.P.H.I.(C) Chief
Public Health Inspector.
"We have developed a
procedure to evaluate the
equipment and facilities of food
premises, and almost im-
mediately will begin gathering
information on all restuarants,
as well as hospital. school. and
nursing home kitchens," said
McCaul.
"The data gathered will
enable us to assist owners and
operators of food premises in
solving their problems, as well
as help us bring some
operations up to a more accep-
table standard," he concluded.

Dianne Argyle had the ladies'
'high single of 235 while Ruth
Makins had the high triple of
642. Jan Koene had both the
men's high single of 281 and
the high triple of 632.
Team Three and Team Two
are deadlocked for the lead in
Bill's Mixed League at Bill's
Bowling and Billiards with 54
points each. Team Four follows
with46, while Team One has
42. Betty Switzer had both the
ladies high triple of 243 and the
high triple of 554. Barb Van
Damme and Sheila Keys are
tied with a high average of 175
each. Don Switzer took all the
honors in the men's side with
the high single of 261, the high
triple of 651 and the high
average of 220.
The Clintonian Club met in
the Townhall on Thursday af-
ternoon Jan. 4.
The president opened the
meeting with the Housewife's
Creed followed by The Lord's
Prayer.
The secretary read minutes
of the previous meeting and
several thank-you notes were
received for flowers sent out for
Christmas.
The treasurers report was
read by Mrs. V. Lampman and
Mrs. H. Adams gave a report
on flowers and cards sent out
during the past year. There had
been seven hospital and 24
home visits made to sick and

smith Mixed League with a 63
point accumulation. Cliff's
Chesnuts follow with 46; Bob's
Birches, 44; Ed's Elms and
Wally's Willows, 42; and

high single of 349 and the high
triple of 685. Angus Hummel
had both the men's high single
of 305 and the high triple of
824.
In the Wil-Dex League,
Heidelburgs lead the way with
33 points followed by Red Caps
win 26; Oktoberfest, 22; and
Molson Brewers, 20. Dorothy
Govier had both the ladies'
high single of 207 and the high
triple of 517. Pat Newington
had both the men's high single
of 209 and the high triple of
556.
In the Clinton-Blyth Ladies'
League, Sea Monkeys lead with
67 points, followed by Hot
Shots with 59; Road Runners,
58; North Stars, 57; and
Laughing Hyenas and The
pacers, 55, Susan Howson had
the ladies high single of' 280,
while Joyce Taylor had the
high triple of 683. Mary Davey
had the high average of 204.
Kenworths have a slim lead
with 57 points in the Lon-
desboro Men's League at the
Crown Lanes. Marks follow
with 56; Whites, 42 and Auto,
Cars, 41. Bruce Roy had the
men's high single of 329 and
the high triple of 804 and the
high average of 220 went to
Cliff Saundercock.

Mizpah Benediction. Lunch
was served and a few games of
cards were played before depar-
ture for home.
Next meeting will be held in
Townhall on Thursday after-
noon Feb. 1, 1973, at 2 p.m.
The United Church. Women,
met in the basement of the
Church last Thursday evening
24 members present. The
president Mrs. Ralph Stephen-
son, opened the meeting with a
prayer. Group one was in
charge of Devotions with the
topic being "Plans for the New
Year," Mrs. Robert Stirling
gave a reading followed by
hymn and prayer, Scripture
was read by Mrs. Ida McClin-
chey, The offering was taken, up
by Mrs. Robert Webster and
dedicated by Mrs.' Florence
Elliott, Readings on New Year
were given by Mrs, WM,
Taylor. Mrs Wm. McAsh and
Mrs. Mervin Johnston. Mrs.
Robert Stirling closed the
Devotions with a prayer.
The business period was led
by Mrs, Ralph Stephenson.
Mrs, Gordon Johnston read the
minutes and gave the roll call
which was answered by paying
the membership fee. Correspon-
dence notes of thanks were
read from those who received
Christmas boxes and the
treasurer gave her report.
There were 67 calls made to
the sick and shut-ins during the
past month,
Mrs. Robert Taylor showed
slides of her recent trip through
parts of Europe, which was
much appreciated by all
present. Afterwards, lunch was
served.
The annual Congregational
meeting of the United Church
will be held at the Church on
Thursday evening of this week.
PERSONALS
Mr. and Mrs. George Ortwein
of Great Falls, Manitoba are
visiting relatives in this vicinity
this week.
Mr, Harold Dowson has been
a patient in Clinton Hospital
this past week,
Mr. and Mrs. Fred
McClymont returned home last
week after spending a couple of
weeks with relatives in Toronto
and King City,
Our local librarian, Miss
Edith Beatty, had the misfor-
tune to fall on the ice and frac-
ture her right arm last week.
