The Ontario Safety League states that the two most dangerous times of the year are when the ice is for- ming and when it is breaking up, This is "freeze-up" time when snowmobilers and ice fishermen should use extreme caution, A snow-covered ice surface seldom gives any in- dication of danger until it is too late. Rivers — and river mouths where they flow into lakes — are most treacherous as there is usually sufficient current to wear away the underside of the ice and prevent the water from freezing to uniform thickness. The Ontario Safety League's advice is to staY off any ice- covered surface unless you have an intimate knowledge of current conditions and ice thickness in all areas, If you do not know the area, contact members of the local snowmobile club or other local authorities and get their ad- vice, Eggo Waffles 11 oz (We reserve the right to limit quantities) %%%,4% %%%%%%% %%%%N% % %%%%%%% %%%%%%%%%% N.%
