HomeMy WebLinkAboutClinton News-Record, 1973-01-04, Page 2Gus Boussey, General Manager of Clinton PUC, shows that a 150-pound manhole cover is
floating on the surface of Clinton's overloaded sanitary sewer system at the end of Gordon
Street last Sunday. Nearly four inches of rain was dumped on Clinton on Saturday and early
Sunday, causing the water to back up into nearly 80 homes in Clinton. The problem will be
alleviated when the new sewer system, shown partially completed on the left, is put into
operation late this year. (News-Record photo)

New Year's Day I was
amazed and horrified to glance
out my dining room window in,
time to see a snowmobile •
passing within two feet or so of
the side of our house, and then
out through our flower bed! It
is things like these that make
one forget the times
snowmobilers have helped
people. One is supposed to
"turn the other cheek" but I
am afraid I don't feel that way-

Mr. Don Kenwell, Special
Education director of the
Huron County Board of
Education, was the guest
speaker of the Sarah Hale
Chapter IODE on Tuesday
evening. He told of the many
services his department has to
offer to the students of the
county--and their parents in the
elementary and secondary
schools and the schools for
trainable retarded. Judging
from the questions put to Mr.
Kenwell following his
discourse, the ladies were quite
interested in learning more
about this particular field.
