Acton, spent the wekend 'with Ms mother, Mrs. Alvin Leatherland nnd sister, - AUBURN — Funeral services ' were held Friday, November 11 fpr Mrs. ■ John Houston who passed away in Clinton Public Hospital. She--was in her 83rd year. ; ; , * / . * She ’ was born, in- Auburn, Mary Rubena Ybunig,- daughter of the Tate James Young and' Elizabeth FoUrby. Slie attended USS 5 Hullett and later took up the study of Music. She be? came a music teacher and was church... organist and choir leader for many years. . ; In 1914 she was married to John Houston and they took up residence in West Wawanosh Township where they resided until they retired to. Auburn a few years .ago. Mrs. Houston was a member of Knox,Presby­ terian Church, Auburn and was a life member of ‘ Women’s Missionary Society. A’iover of flowers, she was a member of the Auburn Horticultural Soc­ iety. ( She is survived by h'ep hus­ band and three daughters, Miss M. Jean Houston; Toronto;-Miss, Frances E., at home and Miss Jean Jamieson of Toronto; - also one sister, Miss Olive Young, Who resided with her all hiea1 life. She was predeceased by one daughter, Mary .and one son James Y. The funeral was" conducted by William Stiles at - the Au­ burn Funeral Home and Rev. R. U. MacLean officiated. Bur­ ial took place,in Golbome Cem­ etery.
