On Sunday afternoon I saw
further evidence of th'e advan
tages of rural living.
A group of young men kindly
invited me to their trap shootr
ing site near Bayfield.
They showed, me how to load
the trap with “birds” and
.spring t'he trap, and even offer
ed to let me try my hand at'
the sport. However I restricted
myself to shooting the “birds”
with my camera!
The group intends to improve
facilities to accommodate more
sportsmen, as they have had,
as many as 35 present on a
single occasion, t from as, far
- afield as Wihghiam and -London.
Firearm safety regulations are
strictly enforced in 'the interest
of all concerned.
There is also a secondary
trap where beginners can learn
the fundamentals- of trap shoot
ing. This is well, patronized by
hunters' who wish to improve
their aim before the season
