Clinton 4; left on bases, Exeter 7, Clinton 3. -----------o---------— Two Appointments Made For Credit Union At an executive meeting Tuesday evening, the directors of Clinton Community Credit Union Limited, appointed Ern­ est Williams a director, to1 fill toe vacancy caused when Thomas Sltetep resigned. Mr. Steep, who was adminiistrator at Clinton Public Hospital, has taken a similar position with a 'hospital at Newbury. - Mr. Williams was a former director of the local credit union When 'he was stationed at Clinton'air force 'base. He was transferred to Ottawa 'from here and is now town Seaforth. Another air force Donniie Chapman was ed to the credit committee of the credit union. He, too, was a ( former executive member hav- 1 ing served .on the public re­ lations committee when on a previous posting to Clinton. He lived to the married quarters at the base. Mr. Chapman was chairman of the bo'ard of directors of the Moisje, Quebec, credit union while he was stationed there with the RCAF. -----------o----------- Wins Local ' Tournament . The Clinton rink of Walter C. Newcombe, skip, and Bent Garrett won the lawn bowling tournament on the local greens last Wednesday. They scored three wins plus 18. ' Bowlihg teams were present •from Goderich, Seaforth, Wing­ ham, London, Tillsonburg and Clinton. Second place went to John Patterson, skip, and William Ball, Seaforth, with two wins plus 18. The Wingham team, of Gordon McKay, skip, and Mal­ colm McKay, placed third with two wins plus 13. Central Huron Softball Starts Playoffs Friday A tie for third place in toe Central Huron Softball League has held up the start of play­ offs. Second race is for non-win- ners of $200 in their (Lifetime and thlird race for non-wtinners of $400. . The fourth race is for non- Winners of $800 in 1965 'and 1966. The first four races are for purses of $200. The late Dr, Howse, of Mitdheil, set toe Clinton track record of 2.07 with “Kelly G.” Clinton plumber Frank ‘ Mac­ Donald, who drives Rythm Brook C., and owns him jointly with Charles Brandon, has had three fir$t iin the .series of race meets at Hanover this year. Foxy G. Lee, who is entered in the fourth race, has been trained at the Clinton track by Wilfred Ross. There will be wagering privi­ leges at the races Saturday,.. HOLE-IN-ONE AT BAYFIELD Steve Hook, a teacher at Central Huron Secondary School, snorted a hole tin one at the Bayfield-Clinton Golf Course yesterday afternoon. Steve just started1 playing golf toils summer and- got his single on the 135 yard fifth hole. His 'Wife was' with, him •at the time.
