marriage, Saturday, April 23 in
the Chapel oLSt.; Luke, West
minster Hospital, London. Rev.
■R, W, Wenham officiated, as
sisted by 'Canon C„ Gardiner.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Stevens and the' late
Thomas Reginald Stevens, RIR
2‘ Clinton, and the bridegroom’s
parents are Mr. and' Mrs. John
■Gelling, RR 2, Clinton..
The 'bride, given away by her
father, chose a floor-length
gown of white soft norganza.
The bodice was highlighted by
a shallow scooped neckline', el
bow-length sleeves and a scal
loped- cummerbund! effect .of
Chantilly lace. The’ gently con
trolled skint. was touched a-
round the bottom by scallops of
the same lace and medallions'
were strewn 'throughout the
gown. Extra fullness at the
back cascaded'to a . chapel train
from a tiny bow. To complete
her bridal outfit, the bride wore
a French pure silk illusion fin
gertip veil caught up by a tiara
of crystals and pcaris. She car
ried a bouquet 'of white roses,
stephanotis and ivy.
Mrs. Bruce (Diane) Lobb,
sister of the bride, Holmesville,
was matron of honour and
; bridesmaids were Miss Janet
Kuss,.. cousin of the bride,
Elyria. Ohio, and Miss ’ Mary
Jean Wenham,-’ Clinton. They
wore matching floor-length
gowns of marine green organza
covered by delicate cotton lace,
with' short -cap sleeves and
scooped necklines. A fullness at
the back of •bell-shaped skirts
fell from a tiny bow, matching
that of the bride.
To add a final touch to their,
ensembles the bridesmaid's wore
matching picture hats touched
with a marine green "‘ribbon and
strewn wlith matching daisies.
Their bouquets were of orange
delight roses, maline green tulle
.and ribbon. Miss Vicki S'chmidt
attended the bride' as flower
girl in a floor-length gown of
white slil'k organza with scoop
neck, tiny puff sleeves, bell
shaped skirt. A marine green
tulle cap touched with white
ribbon adorned her head aind
she carried a nosegay of orange
dielight roses .and stephanotis.
Bob Bylsma was groomsman,
and Ushers were Murray Klaas
and Bruce Lobb. ■

three receptions were held, One
in Westminster- Hospital, Where
the bride’s father was a patient.
A dinner was held at the Angli
can .Church hall where the
bride’s, mother received the
guests wearing a ‘turquoise silk
lace suit with white- accesmries
and a pink rqse corsage. She
‘was assisted by the groom's
mother, wearing a pink ensem
ble with white accessories and
a white rose corsage.
On Saturday evening there
was an, ‘ open, reception given
by the' groom’s parents for the
happy couple."«.
For travelling to West Vir
ginia- the bride donned a black
and white .pure ,;wooil ■ checked
travelling coat, with white
wool sheath, matching checked
hat and black accessories. The
couple are living in HolmciSr
ville.
The bride wais feted at four
showers: one given by her Sun
day School class of five boys;
others by Mrs. Bylslma, Mrs.
Wenham and Mrs. Haughton at
which many ' beautiful gifts
were received by the bridle.

groom is the son of Mrs. Ernest
Shladdick,' Hensall, and the late Mr. Shadidick.
Rev. Donald Stuart of the
Brucefield-Kippen charge, was
assisted in the marriage cere
mony by Mr. Murdock Morri
son of the Varna-Goshen
charge.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a floor
length gown of white peau de
sole jn empire style. The bodice
was accented with pearl and
crystal drops, elbow-length
sleeves and a scoop neckline.
A train ‘ extended from the
waist, held by a bow. She car-;
ried a .crescent shape bouquet
of white gardenias, white roses,
stephanotis and ivy.
Mrs. Wayne Horner, Zurich,
was matron of honour
bridesmaid's Were' Miss
McBride, Zurich and
George Parker, Hensall.
The attendants were gowned
alike in green floor-length
gowns With empire waists ac
cented With a band. of lace. The
bodice featured a scoop neck
line, and was sleeveless. Long
-White gloves were worn. The
straight skirt featured a panel
in the back. They wore match
ing wedding-ring headpieces,
and carried crescent bouquets
of shasta daisies.
Flower girl, Julie James,
London, wore, identical gown
and accessories to that of the
bridesmaids.
Robert Clark, Hensall, was
groomsman and Robert Mc
Bride, Zurich, and George Par
ker, Hensail, ushered.
Mrs. Wayne Muck, Goderich,"
was soloist and Miss Donna
Peck, Zurich, was’ organist.
A receptiqn was held in the
church basement, where the
bride's mother received the
guests, Wearing a blue lace
three-quarter length jacket and
dlress with white hat and ac
cessories and a corsage Of pink
and white 'mums. She was as
sisted by , the groom’s mother,
wearing, a deep blue and' green
brocaded dress and jacket,
black hat and ’ accessories and
a pink corsage.
For a wedding trip to New
York, the ibri'de wore a .pink
spring wool suit with biack
patent accessories and match
ing pink flower hat, and a cor
sage of White 'mums.
The newlyweds will reside in
London where the groom is on
staff at the Department of
Highways. , <
