Grace Evans ’was married to
Robert Barry Taylor,; son of
Mr. and ‘ Mrs. Robert Taylor,
Varna. »
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Stuart Evans and the late
Mr- Evans. Rev, Charles Winn,
Monkton, performed the double
ring ceremony before a setting
of white candelabra and bas
kets of white 'mums.

er”, “Lord's Prayer” and* during
the signing of the register “O
Perfect Love” accompanied by
Mrs. Murray Forbes at the or
gan.
Given in marriage by her
grandfather, Lynn Evans, the
bride wore a floor length gown
of white Liigoda Ice Crepe. The
bodice was highlighted by a
shallow scooped neckline, and
elbow length sleeves of delicate
SlWiss Guipure lace.
Elegance was protrayed in
•the gently controlled sheath
skirt from the empire, waist.
The waist was -also touched
with a scallop of the same
Guipure. The main center of at
tention was the detachable
chapel tralin cascading from the
back neckline, and touched
with lace along the bottom. A
double french illusion veil was
held in place by a dainty half
crown of pearls-. She carried a
white Bible crested1, with talis
man roses.
She was1 attended by her sis
ter Beverley Evans as maid of
honour. The bridesmaids were
Carol Fischer and Carol Taylor,
sister of the groom. All, were
dressed in floor length gowns
of French crepe with daffodil
yellow skirts and gold bodices
with matching shoes and yellow
headpieces shaped like roses.
They carried bouquets of White
shasta 'mums. ' «

For a wedding trip to East
ern .Ontario the bride chose- a
pink suit with blade accessories
and a corsage of white carna
tions. On their return they will
take up residence in Listowel-.-
Guests attended from Varna,
Goderich, Milverton, Mildmay,
Noiith Bay, Niagara Falls,
Stratford, Clinton, Sudbury,
Staff a, Exeter, Atwood, Ethel
and Brussels.

iety has awarded the contact
for building ’two .classrooms and
a supply room, as an addition
to their present school on Per
cival street, to
Glintetu bolder,
The original
erected 'in 1962,
two classrooms,
another two classrooms were
added, and the school has op
erated with four teacher?.
Due to tremendous growth,
the- proposed addition is defin
itely needed, and ‘two more
teachers wili he hired.
Building will begin as soon
as possible, and the addition
is expected to be ready for
classes at school opening, this
September.
Open house is being planned
later, and at that time the
school board will issue invita
tions to all who are interested.

The May 11 meeting of Stan
ley Unit of the U-CW of Bruce-
field Church was -held at the
home of Mrs. C. Horton with
Mrs. J. McGregor as co-hostess.
Devotion by Mrs G. McGreg
or -and Mrs1. J. Cornish, “The
Church is Mission”; a prayer
was given by Mrs. L. Eyre and
roll call had 20 members and
three guests present. Mrs. C.
Henderson received the offering
followed by a prayer.
The study was a talk on Bra
zil by' Mrs; D. Trfebner and
Mrs. C. McGregor told about
the work of the Brazilian
women.

changed wedding vows in First
Presbyterian Church, Seaforith,
■Saturday, May 7 at 4 p.m. Rev.
Douglas' O. Fry performed the
double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. ' William M.
Brown, Seaforth, formerly of
Hensail, and th'e groom is the-
son of Mr. -and Mrs. Lome
Canter, RR 2, Seaforth.
The church was decorated
with candelabra and standards
of white 'mums and pink carna
tions; Barry Oabena, London,
was the organist. He played the
Trumphet Tune by Purcell for
the processional, and the March
by Handel for the recessional.
The soloist, Mrs. Don Overholt,
St. Catharines, sang .the Lord's
Prayer and the Wedding Hymn.
Given in marriage by her
father the bride chose a dtess
of elegance, fashioned in
Guipure lace styled in an Em
pire mood. It featured a slim
A-line skirt, topped with a
highrise, waist, scoop neckline
and elbow sleeves.
To complete this modem pic
ture, a full chapel train styled
in Italine silk, completely en
circled in matching lace cas
caded at the back. The head
piece was designed of four tiers
of silk illusion veil crown with
a pillbox covered in Guipure
lace to match the dress.
She carried' a crescent bou
quet of white.•» roses with -trail
ing green ivy. The bride was
attended by Mrs. Ron Riley,
London, sister of the groom, as
matron, of honour, and brides
maids were Miss Dale Hunt,
London, Miss Marilyn Neeb,
Tavistock, and Miss Barbara
Nagle/ Lucan.

ger Chamberlain, Kitchener and

brother of the bride; Ron Wil
liamson, Walton, and Mr. Ken
McIlwain, Egmondville.
Dinner was in the church
parlor, followed by a dance in
the Seaforth. Legion Hall.
Guests attended from Kitchen
er, Tavistock, London, Hensail,
Stratford Clinton and Petrolia:
The bride’s mother chose a
pale blue crepe dress topped
with imported lace with, white
accessories; The mother of the
groom wore a beige lace dress
with brown accessories, Both
wore rose corslages.
For the wedding trip to the
United States the bride chose
a two-piece coral .silk boucle
suit with matching silk blouse
and hat. Black bag and stipes
and a white- gardenia corsage
completed the ensemble.
The. couple will reside in Sea
forth.

smith United Church Women of
Brucefield United Church was
held on May 10 at the home of
Mrs. George McCartney, Sea-'
forth with an attendance of 25
and six visitors.
The devotion period’was tak
en by Mrs. John Henderson and
Mrs. Elgin Thompson presided.
The seeretairy’s report was read
and roll call was. the name of
a “Woman of -the Bible”. Mrs.
Norris Sillery received the of
fering and gave the treasurer’s
report.
Th'e business part of the
meeting was chaired by the
leader, Mrs. J. Broadfoot. Mrs.
Richardson invited, the unit to
her home for the June meeting
to be held on Tuesday evening,
June 7.
Mrs. E, Sillery and Mrs. John
Broadfoot were in charge of
social pant of the evening. Mrs.
McCartney and her committee
served a delicious lunch.

The ladies’ bowling banquet
Was held recently in the Social
Centre. Mrs. Mdrle Prest, pre
sident, introduced the guests,
Mrs. H. Greenaway, Mrs. Ger
ald Holmes, Mrs. Alan Edwards
and Mrs. Russell.
Presentations were made to
the first plane team, "Misfits”
by Mrs. Holmes, donated by
Fairholme Dairy Ltd. Those oh
the winning team were: Nellie
Palmer, captain; Marg. Belton,
Helen Tfbel, Lucille Bilodeau,
Kay Bathgate and Sheila And
