Dr. Mowatt graduated from
McGill University in Montreal
and .served as. minister at Hud
son, Quebec, prior to enlisting
in the Canadian Army as Chap
lain. He served with the
Queen’s Own Rifles from the
D-day landing in Normandy' to
the end of the war. During
this* period he received the
Oroix De Guerre, Chevalier De
Leopold1 and the Canadian
Forces Decoration.
Peace-time found Dr. Mowatt
as minister of Wesley’ United
Church, Calgary, Alta., for five
years until he was called back
into- the Chaplaincy during the
Korean War. At this' time he
was serving wliith. the Royal
Canadian Navy as; Senior and
then' -Command Chaplain on
both the East and West coasts.
Dr. -and Mrs. Mowatt have
one son, Donald, who is a pro
ducer with the Canadian Broad
casting Corporation.

Glen Dewar of Atwood found
a helium balloon recently on
the farm of Ted Hunkiing. The
balloon was sent aloft by Mark
Slaten of Cicero, Illinois. He
is a member of cub scouts and
wiill no doubt be thrilled to
hear his balloon was found..

chapel was the scene pf a quiet
wedding on, Saturday, May 7,
1966 when Marybelle Jane
Bere and Richard Dwight Aid
ham were united in marriage.
The chapel was attractively
decorated with pink carnations.
The wedcling ceremony was
conducted' by Rev G, L. Royal
gnd the wedding music was
played by Mr. Cameron, the
church. organist,., .. ’
The bridh js the daughter of
Mrs. Orland Bere of Auburn
and the jate Mr. Bere and the
groom'' i.s the son of Mi's, Ber-
tha Aidham of Goderirh.
The bride, wore a white dress
of lace over taffeta, a short
veil and- carried a nosegay of
White baby ’mums and' red ros
es. . The witnesses were Miss
Ruth Here’.of Auburn, sister of
the1 bride ,ahd Mir. Paul Carroll
of Benmiller,
Following, the ceremony a re
ception took place at the Tiger
Dunlop Inn where the bridal
party were assisted in receiving
the guests by the bride’s
mother who chose a light blue
bonded lace dress, white acces
sories with a pink rose corsage.
She was assisted.by the groom’s
mother who chose brown satin
with beige accessories, and a
talisman rose corsage. ‘
For a wedding trip to Niag
ara Falls, the bride donned a
light blue dress, empire style
with bodice of white bonded
lace, navy coat and white ac
cessories, On their return they
will reside in Kitchener.
