A twomight run on May 6
and 7 is being planned, with
tickets'available at the sch
ool, and froflu Ytalents. Stu
dents Council is the sponsor
for the night. They’re charg
ing one dollar,and our opinion
is that the show will be
worth it,
We wandered in past a re
hearsing sextet of go-go girls
in the lobby, and' paused to
waitch the routine. There was
no music. The young ladies
Wore, white dresses with, tra
ditional fringe in red, The
audience was made up of
three young men, silent,
either in awe or in apprecia
tion, and ourselves,
And other than the'sound
of some under-the-breath
counting by leader Glenda,
there was nothing but the
swish of the ■ fringe as it
swung with the movement of
the girls.'Positively eerie!
But of course, on stage
with Lawrence and his Arab
ians as background, .there’s
going to be a certain lack of
silence during the real show.
Camera at the ready, we
joined the members of the
• show and stagehands on too
floor of the gymn, and watch
ed as people with a sense of
• mission, rushed to and fro
getting things planned and
- operating smoothly.
There were a half dozen
adults there somewhere, but
certainly not'in any promin
ence.
A rather worried looking
quiet man with a sheaf of
. notes in his hand moved
qutolcly from here to there,-
making himself available
queP-tions from pro-pmen,
rectors, ticket sellers, light
ing specialists, business man
agers, make-up personnel,
etc. He was a' teacher, We
found that out at the en'd,
when he gathered the young
people about him for a pep
talk and briefing after re
hearsal was over. “We’ve got
a fihwv,”, said he jn a quiet
voice,
And they do have.
Included are vocalists,
bands, skits, monologues, a
good emcee job done by
Steve Choke with quite a lot
of originality, an excellent

people,
the stage. We predict that
you’d better get your tickets
early, for the 'room will likely
be quite, quite full, on both
nights.
We met ‘ a “•hard-sell”
young bus'ineTman on the
premises that almost com
pleted the selfing job on us—
and that is a dlifficullt thing
at boat of times. We news
paper folks are exceptiomlly
herd to impi's<'is. If he, and
ci'.ihcr ycung people do- as good
a job.on friends and relatives,
Students Council will have a
full house.
In passing, we want to say
that the young folk who are,
doing this show, from the
prop designer-up to- the em
cee, aire about as serious a
group of ’teens as we’ve, seen
in a long while.
And the recult we expect
will be one of the best, fun-
filled variety nights, we’ve
ever had the pleasure to see
up at the big school.
