Equipment
Old hockey players who are
no longer using their equipment
are asked to donate it to mem
bers of the Exeter midget hockey
team.
The kids could use shin
guards, shoulder pads, gloves,
etc, Donations will be accepted
at Traquair Hardware and dis
tributed to the players,
The midgets, sponsored by the
Kinsmen, will be classed as ”C”
in a league with two “D” teams
along with Lucan juveniles.

Mrs. Mary Gidley
Mrs, Mary Gidley, who for
years was librarian at the Exeter
Library, passed away at her
home on Friday last. She had
been ailing for some time. Born
at Summerside, P.E.I., her maid
en name was Mary Ellen Brima-
combe, She had been a resident
of Exeter most of her life. She
was twice married, he first hus
band being Captain James N,
Howard. She was later married
to Harry
deceased her
She was a
Presbyterian
Surviving
Richard Howard, of town, and
two sisters, Mrs. L. Knapp, of
Los Angeles, and Mrs. J. Larsen,
of Winnipeg.
The funeral service was con
ducted Sunday afternoon at the
Hopper-Hockey funeral home
with Rev. Donald Sinclair
ciating. Interment was in
Exeter cemetery.
Mrs. George Snell
The funeral of the late
George Snell, who died in
don Sunday, was held Tuesday
afternoon from the Hopper-
Hockey funeral home conducted
by Rev. H. J. Snell. Mrs. Snell,
whose maiden name was Edith
Windsor, was born in McGilli
vray Township and after her
marriage to Mr. Snell resided in
Stephen before retiring to Exe
ter* many years ago. Mr. Snell
predeceased her about 22 years.
Deceased was in her eighty-third
year. She was a member of the
James Street United Church and
was the last of her family. A
number of nieces and nephews
survive. The bearers were: Irwin
Ford, Cecil Jones, Harry Hod
gins, Windsor Matthew, Arthur
Windsor and Andrew Dougall.
M rs. Wm. Brickwood
A former resident of Exeter,
Mrs. William BrtcWood, passed
away in London at the home of
her niece, Mrs. Sybald, Thursday
of last week. The remains were
brought to Exeter and the fun
eral Saturday afternoon was held
from the Hopper-Hockey funeral
home conducted by Rev. H. J.
Mahoney. Mrs. Brickwood resid
ed in Exeter North for many
years and since the death of Mr.
Brickwood several years ago she
has been residing with her niece.
Death was due to pneumonia.
Mrs. Sybald and Mrs. Rudd of
London accompanied the re
mains to Exeter.

ers of Lebanon Lodge and those
of Irving Lodge, Lucan. A full

Dies In Windsor
Mr. Campbell Wares, of Wind
sor, a former resident and con
tractor of Exeter, died Wednes
day from a heart attack. Word
was received in Exeter by Mr.

Exeter Of the death of Elizabeth
Stewart, 8-yeat-old daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stewart, of
Toronto, formerly of Cromarty,
who passed away in Orillia. An
ambulance from the “Hopper-Hoc
key funeral home left Thursday
morning for Orillia to bring the
body to Exeter for interment In
the Exeter cemetery.
