treacherous driving conditions,
the chaperones decided to leavd

and Mr. Blowes deserve a vote
of thanks for their efforts in
■planning the trip and it was just
too bad the weather didn’t co
operate to make 'the journey
more 'pleasant.

The Exeter Public School is

Thankoffering Meeting
The Caven Auxiliary of the
Women’s Missionary Society held
their thankoffering meeting on
Sunday, November 19, in the
Sunday School rooms. The presi
dent, Mrs. Mitchell opened the
meeting. Mrs. F. Whilsmith had
charge of the devotional period.
The Mission Band was present
and Seals were presented to Jan
ice Neil, Phyllis Cann, Patsy
Bowden, Gwen Simpson, and
Marilyn Strang. Carol Hogarth
sang a solo, ‘‘Climb, Climb Up
Sunshine Mountain", and Phyllis
•Cann and Gwen Simpson sang a
duet.
Mrs. Ritchie of Seaforth was
guest speaker, and she gave a
very interesting talk on a visit
she had made to Ottawa a num
ber of years ago, making it very
enjoyable for the Mission Band.
Mrs. E. Nixon favoured with a
lovely piano solo, "The Chimes",
which was very milch enjoyed.
