McLean, M.P. for Huron-Perth. “Mr. Golding was a man who came to be beloved by everyone in Ottawa,” he declared, one of any party found any grounds for criticizing Bill.” Mr. McLean, he said, had a difficult road to travel but he has the ability to follow Bill Golding’s footsteps. Members of parliament who spoke at the meeting were James Corry, Perth; Russell Daley, Guelph; Donald Blue, Bruce; Alex Jeffery, London. All praised the ability of Andrew McLean, “the white-haired boy”, who re­ presented Huron - Perth. Others who addressed the meeting brief­ ly were Dr. Roy Campbell, of Nova Scotia, former president of the Huron-Perth Liberal Asso­ ciation. Senator Golding who thanked Mr. Winters said “I have always had a deep interest in Winters. His first speech (I lieve I was in the chair of commons then) impressed that he was a man who was cere and capable.” Speaking to members of the association, he said: “You did a good job here in 1949 when you selected Andy McLean. I can assure you,” he said, “every word that has been said of Mr. McLean here tonight is true.” Officers of the association were re-elected unanimously by the meting. President is W. L. The brides sister-in-law, Mrs. Lloyd Smith, as matron of honor was gowned in powder blue taf­ feta with matching hat trimmed with ostrich tips, and carried a cascade bouquet .of Coppercliffe mums. The bride was also attend­ ed by her three sisters; Miss Marie in dominance pink; Miss Myrland in Royal blue Turquoise and little , Rosemary as flower girl, in primrose; all three gowns and hats being identically styled of taffeta with velvet trimming, and they also carried cascade bouquets of mums in harmoniz­ ing shades. George Gough, brother of the groom, assisted as groomsman: Lloyd Smith and Mac Patterson were ushers. After the ceremony a recep­ tion was held at Monetta Men­ ards, Exeter. The brides mother, dressed in navy crepe with wine accessories and -wearing a corsage of i-oses, received the guests, as­ sisted by the grooms mother, dressed in grey with navy acces­ sories, and wearing a corsage of pink roses. • Later, for a honeymoon to the |U.
