saw twenty-five men on the field
in only five innings Wednesday
night. Six pitchers struggled on
the mound as the batters took
control of the game.
Exeter’s big inning came in
the third when they tallied five
runs on two hits and four walks.
Centralia scored three runs in
both third and sixth innings.
Shaw gets credit for the vic

knocked Zurich Lumber Queens
out of the ark Friday night when
they plastered a 25-8 shiner on
them.
The Greys had every thing their
own way, especially in the eighth
when they scored ten runs. Jean
Taylor and Marilyn Pfaff scored
four runs apiece for the victors.

ory of their men who . died in
the service of Canada

“These men, in the hour of
danger, learned to know God
and lost their .fear of death,”
Major Daniel said. “Their spirit
was wonderful and they should
not be forgotten. I think it is
right that communities such as
Lucan should construct a useful
and lasting monument to the
memory of these men.”
The hall was filled for the de
votional service lead by Rev. L.
C. Harrison, Lucan Anglican rec
tor and Rev. R. B. Cumming,
United Church minister.

wood Wednesday evening at*Ket-
erson Park, 10-1 Huck Welch
went all the way for the winners
and allowed only six hits, which
makes his average, two runs in
2 7 innings. Dashwood’s star
pitcher, Yelle, started off but
was hindered with a blistered
finger injured the previous eve
ning during their game with
Zurich. He was relieved in the
seventh by Carl Wein who al
lowed only one hit for the bal
ance of the game.
Bob Gatenby hit the only
double of the game in the sixth
inning with three men on bases.

Toronto where she had plastic
surgery done on two fingers
: which wore severely burned with
an electric iron. Latest report is
they hope to save the knuckles
* from becoming stiff.
